jeffham222
Hasn't been brought up in a few months, so I figured I would ask again--anyone know anything about this? Wags? Do you guys (and gals of course) think there will be a full new stick or just a replacement for the Warthog? Throttles DEFINITELY have to be rebuilt to fit the Hornet, though (IMO). I'll fight you to be first in line for this bad boy if and when it comes out! Brun
I'm not that bothered about a Hornet stick. It may be more authentic but it's useful having the redundant buttons on the Warthog one, for VR amongst other things. A throttle quadrant I'd definitely be interested in, but that's a whole new product so I won't be holding my breath. I would imagine that the thrustmaster announcement next week will be a package of throttle and stick, just like the original warthog. You will probably be able to buy the throttle separately too I would think.
NahkaSukka
If the quality hasn't improved, then no thank you. I kind of want the Hornet grip but that means one less hat switch which will make using A-10C harder. Im perfectly fine with the current T-50 base + 10cm extension + WH grip, TM WH Throttle and MFG Crosswind setup. If this throttle bricks too i'm not even considering buying another throttle from Thrustmaster.
sze5003
I would be interested in just the grip not the base. I'm waiting for the vpc warBRD to ship out to me and will be using the Warthog grip and the T50 grip for most of my flights. If they come out with it soon I may just order the grip but yeah it does seem like the A10/ t50 grip has more functions. You‘re welcome jeffham222. Cowboy10uk
Just curious, why do you own 3 sticks and 2 throttles? Doesn’t everyone? I know I have 2 extra Hotas setups tucked away in case of breakdowns. Greekbull
I think a new HOTAS should almost certainly be announced next week...otherwise it would be pretty ridiculous for Thrustmaster to call it the #SummerofFlight with only rudder pedals and a headset. sze5003
Jabbers got a chance to play with the hornet stick. He mentioned on Reddit that it looked and felt really nice. No eta on when it will be released, they said they were not allowed to say. Probably by the time the hornet is complete. You see up close the hornet stick for a min or two. According to this I found on Reddit, looks like it won't be available until 2020. Likely to get a throttle too with it. sze5003
I don't get it though.. majority of the people who wanted the hornet likely already have it so releasing just a grip that screws on to the warthog base in 2 years is kind of dumb from a marketing and sales perspective. I'll still be using my warthog grip and my t50 grip when it arrives with it's new desktop base. If my warthog grip broke right now I'd still buy another one because i like it a lot, just hate the base. ThorHammer
I agree, why bother developing it if you're going to release it a year and a half after the damn plane is released?
blkspade
If my warthog grip broke right now I'd still buy another one because i like it a lot, just hate the base. It would be kind of hard to break the actual grip though, considering its solid metal construction. Now the buttons and switches could be broken, but are individually replaceable parts that wouldn't really warrant a need to replace the whole grip. http://104thphoenix.com/
dburne
I agree, why bother developing it if you're going to release it a year and a half after the damn plane is released? That will be one large missed opportunity. Striking while the iron is hot has it's advantages. They did it with the Warthog right?
