Door Gunner for CSAR

Hello :)

is it possible to make the door gunner working without exterior weapons? On CSAR Missions my Community only uses the doorgunner but the Mi8 accept them only when you set the Exterior Weaponarms also.

No, external weapon racks have to be turned on in the editor. They can be empty, though!

With respect to the simulation, the door gunners are a weapon on a station on a rack (that's even how it's configured in the ME).

Maybe, but in real Mi-8s one doesn't need rocket/pod racks to install a door gun and that's what OP's interested in I presume. So the fact that we must have these on in DCS is actually a blatant "disrespect" to the simulation :D.

I wouldn't mind having the logic of our stores screen in the editor updated a little in this regard, though I'm not loosing any sleep over it.

I don't own UH-1 module, how does it work there? When you want to have M-60s in the doors, do you have to have rocket hardpoints enabled as well?

Yes, and it's just as annoying.

It's because they modeled that kind of door gun/weaps mount vs the pedestal mount. It would have been nice to have both in Huey. They do it with the IR gear, you can remove the diffuser, but you lose flares too.

Actually you can use flares on the Huey just fine without having the IR suppressor mounted. They require the weapon mounts.

I agree it would be nice to have a 'clean' Mi-8 with just the door guns for certain missions, but usually that extra weight isn't much of an issue, so it's mostly cosmetics.
