R-77 for Su-27

Recommended Posts

Sorry if I may have missed the info, but aren't R-77s supposed to be compatible with the Su-27 as well as the Mig-29? Why isn't it there on the Su-27?

R-77s were carried by Su-27SM's IIRC, DCS Models the Old Su-27s

There's no reason for ED not to upgrade our beloved 27 to the SM variant. Heck, Sukhoi did it in real life. ;)

...no.

That's assuming that ED must be in complete partnership with Sukhoi and have all information regarding their aircraft; they don't, of course.

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

At least we're getting the DCS: Su-27S at some point in time, according to Wags:

What upgrades does the S have in comparison to the SM and normal one, and will it be a part of FC3 or will it be different??

I guess it will just be our Su-27 from FC3 brought up to DCS-level quality, w/ clickable cockpit, etc. This post I referenced is already 3yrs old - but at least it's by Wags and thus 'official'. Haven't really seen any news on this one since then, though...

Even if we don't get the R-77, a DCS-level non-trainer Russian jet is way overdue...

I wonder if they'll also throw in an F-15C of that level. Hopefully an MSIP-2 variant of possible :music_whistling:

A 1980's F-15C would be the most sensible choice if doing a 1980's Su-27S. I don't think either are going to happen anytime soon though. Those statements were made ages ago and they've clearly chosen to do other things instead given all the aircraft they've released or are officially working on that aren't an F-15 or Su-27.
