droz
I'm planning on using this. http://www.simmeters.com/?cat=25 Now, what I need is a place I can buy the toggle switches and rotaries I will need to go with this. I've looked at places like Radio Shack, but at 3 bucks a pop, it will turn really expensive. I'm looking to purchase them in bulk, and then where I can find the connectors to connect to that board for them. I've got a pretty good handle on everything else I will need, this is the only thing I'm kind of at a loss for finding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. pitbldr
I've seen bulk switches on ebay, so you might find some deals there. And $3 ain't bad... I've spent $25 for just one switch! I expect to have several hundred invested in switches when it's all done. Of course, I am trying to find and use military grade hardware though. :D
rocketeer
see my thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=48697&page=10 I posted some online sites somewhere in the thread. see also post #342, 346 etc. if you buy by the dozens online you'd save a lot, even after paying for shipping, compared to a retail shop like radio shack or fry's. LeLv30_Superbus
Please do, Rockeyes. I've been eyeing this board too for a while now, but their www-site offers zero information about the outputs when used with DCS -series. Specifically, what kind of output hardware should one have? Can you connects leds and LCD displays directly to iBoard? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click to view pictures of my deskpit
Krebs20
Hey there Rockeyes, Any word from Simmeters? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rockeyes
Nope nothing and therefore does not bode well for any support. It’s a shame as it looked like a good board but I certainly wont be tempted to purchase now and will stick to what the wizards on this forum seem to be using. The Leo Bodnar boards and then the Opencockpit cards. One thing guaranteed is that the Bodnar is real plug and play and very simple to use and the O/C stuff lets you be creative and there is a huge following and therefore support. I have no programming skills but was able to get through my first attempt of interfacing an O/C USB Servo card with some help on my first cockpit trials. http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/20050-Opencockpits-USB-servo-card/page7 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] HTC Vive Windows 10 Maximus VIII Hero i7-6700k CPU @ 4.2GHz 16GB Nvida GeForce GTX 1080. Feed
Rockeyes ... I kinda wish I hadn't seen that video, or known that you had no previous experience. LOL ... now there's something else I want to try!
