I dont expect anything except Viggen Hype and extended Bundle deals...

But I WOULD LIKE TO BE SURPRISED.

I place myself in the pessimistic column, which is unusual.

Edit: Newsletter just dropped...unfortunately, i was spot on.

That comes in the newsletter. Leatherneck decided too give the spitfire some room.

The viggen was already finished last year!

I think ED thought that if the viggen is out, that nobody buys the spit.

That is simply not true in any regard.

Nothing really wrong with the Newsletter to me, I am sure LN appreciates the focus on their module before it drops.

Also people need to read the definition of hype as well, this isnt hype its information on a module coming soon.

Remember, much of the Russian team is just getting back in gear after the holidays, I am sure we will get more news about ED stuff soon.

No need to wait, just replace 2016 with 2017 in that newsletter, and presto, you have DCS World Future update. :smilewink:

That is a oversimplification very drastic.

Meanwhile some parts can be changed to 2017 as Normandy WW2 (and AI units), 2.5, Caucasus update, F/A-18C module, etc, has very quantity of "dark holes" to fill.

Spitfire Mk.IX, NTTR "first expansion", Mig-29A/G external 3D models, BSK F-5E, Polychop Sa342 and 3rd parties campaigns has been release and the AJS-37 coming on a week on beta.

Not bad know what is the next WW2 module, and if coming that year, if the carrier modules and Hormuz map still alive to that year, if DCS: World can give future upgrades added to the feature list, if new projects by ED can coming from to that year, and if someone of previous modules can get more updates (Mig-29S external modules, Su33 and Mig-29 AFM, etc).

The NTTR has a Hope To "second expansion" with the NTC (National Training Centre) to CA and Helos, not sure if WW2 map team continue work on Normandy Map extension plans or move to other "planed" theatres. A DCS: World 3.0 after 2.5?, a CA upgrade?, a long etc....

And of Course, the 3rd party release plans and projects to 2017....Have great quantity to questions in the air.

Please discuss the current newsletter, if this thread is just going to be pouting about what we didnt get in the newsletter, then I see no point in leaving it open.

pretty sure ED is focusing on the next week update too, not only LNS

with/after the implementation of the new air-to-ground radar - what will debut on the Viggen - hopefully they will make another bestseller: the FC3#2 (Su-24, Su-30, F-15E, F-16, F-4, Tornado etc.+ perhaps MiG-23/25/31, and the F/A-18A !!! - like equally as FC3-A-10A next to the A-10C module)

i believe many people does not want to wait years for ASM+PFM modules

maybe in the next update (1.5.6 or 1.6.0 ??? - probably it defends on how "deep" is the A2G radar code) we will get new weapon models, maybe the new MiG-29C or maybe the new Kuznetsov 3D model as well

just my 2 cents ;) hold on guys

I agree there is nothing wrong with the news letter. My comment certainly was not intended as a negative remark. Just a mere prediction, joining the guessing game.

I was not excited and was on the fence regarding the Viggen.

But I have seen the light and decided to buy her! Now I am excited about it.

Maybe I will win one of the 15 slots to get my Handle on an F14 skin.

Would be cool if they did that for The Viggen too!

How do we discuss previous newsletters, do we just create a new thread? I've missed quite a few in the past.

All the (to me) important game engine parts of the 2016 plan are missing from your list: ATC, FLIR, dynamic weather and last but not least: dedicated server. Let the third parties work on new modules but ED should work on the DCS World engine as hard as possible.

Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
