Cannot remove JOY_BTN4 as modifier (Warthog HOTAS)

Recommended Posts

I am having this issue, I remove JOY_BTN4 as a modifier for Spitfire IX as I want to assign JOY_BTN4 (paddle switch) on my Warthog stick to the brake action for the Spitfire IX - but I cannot stop JOY_BTN4 being put back as a modifier for the Spitfire IX every time I restart the sim.

Is there a "modifier" file I need to edit?

Edit: this is with DCS 2.5, and was fine on DCS 2.2 open alpha

Did you "Clear" and set it to "Default" or just try and do it after you clicked to go into the button setup?

I'm not sure but I think that worked for me. Its been a while since I tried.

Modifiers used to be global but now they're set per-context (UI Layer, General, A-10C Sim, etc.). That's a great improvement.

However people's installations of DCS can be much older than this change. Previously modifiers.lua was global while now there is a copy in each module's folder. Look through every modifiers.lua ( https://www.voidtools.com/support/everything/ ) and check them all in notepad.

Thanks guys, I found the modifiers.lua file in the folder C:\Users\xxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\SpitfireLFMkIX

Edited the SpitfireLFMkIX one to remove the "Joy_BTN4" entry and all good now
