WWII Veteran Flys on B-29

The B-29 "FiFi" stopped in Oklahoma City this week. I live about 45 miles east. I had some spare time before work (I am on night shift this weekend, 5pm-5am) on Friday so I stopped by the airport to check out a Superfortress for my first time.

 

The was a WWII veteran just ahead of me on the flight deck of the 29. When we got down he was telling war stories. He was a gunner on a TBF Avenger. Long story short, I bought him the last ticket available for the B-29! He got to fly Saturday morning.

Very cool. I have yet to see her in person although I do donate to help keep her flying.
