I want to share with you my weekend project, a DIY switch box for DCS, the left side of an F-18 but with my own switch arrangement. I’m finishing the left vertical panel too.

The boxes.

Interesting approach... Have fun while buliding!

Just two questions:

What is the material of the laser cut panels?

It does not look like plywood or similar.

And most interestingly: Where did you get that big red pushbutton from?

Looks great!

Cheers,

RS

Hi, almost all the items are from eBay, even the harrier knobs, the Honeywell switches, etc.

I purchase some stuff from Leo Bodnar store.

I need to drill some holes, apply fill putty and paint, then cut a black, translucent and white acrylic sheet for proper retro illumination.

I'm jealous of your switches and such, I'm usually stuck with using cheap Chinese ebay switches. =/ About one out of every five or ten is so bad I throw it out, but they are super cheap!

Es así como decís, all the cheap offers from China are not good quality switches, I bough from them several kind of switch and the three position switches are crap.

All what you said is the reason behind the Honeywell switches.

I will upload some photo of the Chinese switches.

A 3D printed fuel panel plate. I made it in sketch up, almost 4 hours of printing time.

Now the plate have an special filling potty to highlight the text embossed.

Special filling potty = tooth paste.

I have a white acrylic sheet to paint in black and then send to laser engraving. This plate is just part of the design process

The journey is so important as the destiny.
