Rtx 2060 enough for VR?

Recommended Posts

Hi;

I recently purchased hp omen 15-DC1025cl (laptop), it comes NVIDIA rtx 2060. Now I got to decide between trackir or VR (specifically PSVR) and planning to jump into F-16C for it, two questions

1- Will RTX 2060 support a reasonable quality VR gameplay?

2- Any suggestions on using PSVR?

I am guessing this system is a laptop.

Before building my entry level desktop system, my Dell 7757 gaming laptop with core i5 2.5hz, 16g ram and a gtx 1060 6g was driving my Samsung odyssey plus vr headset fine.

However after about few months of use, it took a beating as one of the cooling fan is bad now. Heat generated is better managed on a desktop.

So it is fair to say a gtx 2060 will do relatively fine on a mixed low/medium graphics settings.

I have no experience with the psvr setup though so no help in that area.

In additional for immersion purpose, I would say VR. Nothing come close to VR having used Trackir(put away in storage box now). The mileage for using VR varies from person to person considering picture quality in vr but is getting better with newer headset.

It should run it, I wouldn't say it would run it well. Expect 40 fps with a Rift S or 45 FPS with any other headset at low-ish detail settings. That said, I think it's still worth it. TIR is dead to me, it's VR or nothing for flight sims now.

System specs: i5-10600k (4.9 GHz), RX 6950XT, 32GB DDR4 3200, NVMe SSD, Reverb G2, WinWing Super Libra/Taurus, CH Pro Pedals.

Yeah, man!

ED needs to work hard on that VR front because it will be VR or nothing in the future in my opinion.

(Sorry for people with 3D visual problems). (I´m Optometrist and sometimes help those people).
