Uninstall - reinstall question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm thinking of uninstalling and then reinstalling DCS in hopes that my 3 Thrustmaster controllers will work in F-16. I've tried doing a repair, unplugging the controllers and checking all my DCS settings.... no joy! The F-18 works fine so DCS is seeing my controllers at some point.

My question, do I need to deactivater/ activate all my modules or will it carry over since there will be No hardware changes? Thanks in advance for your response!

Hi

as long as the OS is the same and hardware is the same you will be ok for a reinstall without worrying about activation's.

Before doing a reinstall, try the following: Rename the /saved games/DCS/ or /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ folder, say add a .bak at the end, like DCS.bak or DCS.OpenBeta.bak .. the next time you run DCS it will re-create the folder with a default config, where you can see if your controllers now get detected properly.
