to update or not to update ?

Since the update - I am getting jitters when looking from side to side in the cockpit and also the ground jitters when moving. When exiting DCS it hangs sometimes as well. I am just waiting for the next update to hopefully fix. Everything was working perfect for me before the update - I don't recommend it.

I have experienced similar issues as well. I also had zero problems before the update too....

I would assume they'll fix this update before releasing an update to the non-beta version so perhaps another update this week for the beta version.

I'm extremely curious about system specs and OS, whether you're flying VR, etc., as my OB is completely unusable. I can play in the ME all day long, but once I go to fly, it hangs and has to be closed via task manager. I've attempted to eliminate any mods as being the culprit and it's still a no-go. Ran several cleanups and several repairs. My pc isn't the powerhouse of powerhouses, but it's no slouch (copied from Dxdiag) =

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) (17134.rs4_release.180410-1804)

Processor: Intel® Core i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.7GHz

Memory: 16384MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 12

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

I am running DCS in VR via Oculus.

That'll probably be down to the latest release. I've got a lower spec PC than you and have no problem flying the previous version in the Rift.

I'm waiting for these issues to be fixed before I update and you might want to revert to the previous version too. It's possible that ED might drop a hot fix in, but if they do and it works, I will update then.

Nah, I'm too scared to touch the update. Way too many issues and inconsistencies of works for some but not for others. I'll wait, unfortunately.

As I stated earlier, I personally flew with 7 Oculus Rift pilots Friday night in the Persian Gulf and no one had any issues.

We believe the patch increased frame rates and I was able to up my pixel density again.

You're right. I can backup my current install just in case.

Is anyone experiencing heavy VR issues with the latest hotfix ?

Yes. I had to roll back to 2.5.2 .

We believe the patch increased frame rates and I was able to up my pixel density again.

I tested the 'Ready on the Ramp' Caucasus Instant Action mission both in 2.5.2 and 2.5.3 and I don't see any difference in frame rate. Perhaps only heavier missions have a difference...

I think it really was the Oculus 'necessary' update that fcuked the DCS VR install.

So you suggest to rollback and re-update?

Not really, I forgot to mention,

just should have waited for the 'background Oculus auto update' should have finished I suppose (look in the Oculus 'notification', but won't say when finished :( ) .

My guess is.

BUT

meanwhile

I deleted my .\Program Files (x86)\Steam" dir (because I am an impatient lad)

If you have Steam + VR installed

BUT for the " . :\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps" were your games are in (or download the GB's of games again)

and reinstalled Steam, reinstalled Steam VR.

Deleting my .\Program Files (x86)\Steam" was a bit too drastic, forgot what exactly (some settings I suppose),

but you might want to search for a better way to an enforced re-install of Steam.

I think Oculus fcuked its own install (when also Steam installed in my case, cannot distinguish which was the real culprit)

All Does work again though, my updated DCS no glitches now.

Oh but i'm a non steam user as far as DCS

then perhaps it still could be the recent Oculus update (which I still have to figure out how to check)

of which my Windows 'programs and features' now tells me

it's version "<3",

how about that .....

Unplayable on my HTC Vive right now - my mouse isn't able to click/interact with anything in the bottom half of the display, so I can't lower my settings to a VR-friendly level.

Start in non VR,

edit the options.lua VR ["enable"] = false,

and set your preferences

?

My Rift works fine in the latest hot patch 2.5.3.21235
