seriously Horrible Stutters and Frequent CTD

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I've raised a post on this subject before but sadly after the latest update the problem remains, and hopefully I shall provide some more information this time. The stutters in question involve every two to three seconds, sometimes more irregularly, split second interruptions in both movement and sound. The crashes have been frequent as has been said by many others. Here are my computer specs and attached are a series of files recording crashes.

• Asus PRIME X299-A Motherboard

• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Graphics Card

• 32GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks)

• Intel Core i9-7900X CPU, 10 Cores, 3.3 - 4.3GHz

• Corsair Hydro H100x CPU Cooler

• Windows 10 Home 64-bit

• Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold 850W PSU

Hi

the crash is obviously a sound one, I wonder if disabling each sound device one at a time you may be able to pin down which one is potentially giving you problems

"U28H75x (NVIDIA High Definition Audio)"

"Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio)"

"Headphones (Rift Audio)"

"Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)"

Make sure DCS has had a cleanup and repair

ensure windows and all drivers are up to date.

Disable in windows each device in turn before testing DCS can you pin down if it is related?

I personally have encountered issues before with multiple sound drivers. In my case,

I have onboard audio

Soundblaster card

Nvidia HD audio on the GPU

Headphones that have dedicated onboard audio

It used to cause havoc with some stuff. I disabled my onboard and Nvidia audio altogether, leaving only my SB and headphones and it resolved a lot of it.

Hi BIGNEWY, thanks for responding. I will also look at the sound that I am using since this has changed recently, however the problem went away completely, and there was even a rise in FPS when I switched off my Ethernet in win 10. This has been brought up in a thread elsewhere but I had forgotten that turning the wifi off in the game doesn't help, it has to be turned off in win 10. Now, win 10 has had a big update recently, could this be the problem?

Try allso disbaling your integrated audio chip on the BIOS, what's the point having 2-3 audio devices since you have a soundblaster card?

I also have a pci-express soundblaster zx card, all the other audio devices are disabled both in bios and also under audio pannel control in windows.

As for the ethernet that's called DPC latency which can be caused by some NIC ( nrewtork interface controller), i.e your ethernet chipset.

Try to update your land drivers directly from vendors and not from the motherboard support page.

YOu seem to suffer the symptom that GOA described, the Intel LAN chip bug.

Update your LAN adapter's driver with a driver from Intel directly.

*From what I read, this mostly affects 6th gen CPU's and Z170 chipset, yours is X299..hmm..seems like that statement with Z170 is obsolete.

I have the same blamed chipset Intel I-219-V, in addition I have a Intel Pro-1000 PCIe AIB for VMware and a WLAN AC chip on the motherboard and all are usually ON, no stutter, no crashes, nada, mine runs like a charm, every day, every single time.

I just dont get all those problems people have.

I am also having a z170 with I219-V intel chipset and have 0 stuttering .

The only problem I have is the f***g trackir which is smooth only at 60fps and at 120 or beyond......

Question for the OP: are u using trackir? Please pause it and use the keyboard or your joystick hat to move around in the cocpit and let me know if you're still getting stuttering.

Please do me a favour and make this test.

Hello all

• Windows 10 Home 64-bit

• Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold 850W PSU

Please download DPC latency mon software and run it and let me know if you have any ethernt DPC LATENCY.

Do you have other devices capable of streaming other sources on the same network as your gaming rig? (like android tvs / tablets / smartphones ?)
