Would anyone here be actually be interested in having an CV/MV-22 Osprey in the sim one day. I understand that it is a very new platform and very high tech but lets say in the future, would you think it has a real place in DCS? Should an AI be integrated soon? Would you want an unarmed special operations aircraft. Just want to see the community's opinion on this topic.

Is it possible in the future, sure. However, that future is very, very far away.

At the end of the day, it's a solid VTOL unit capable of fairly fast troop transport, can operate from a carrier, and refuel in the air. It's even possibly getting its own armaments at some point.

As a DCS player that would love to see DCS focus on being the flight sim to do naval air power right, I can only hope we get it. Time may be an issue, but as long as ED don't get saddled with extra workload( NTTR, kickstarter type obligations), we may well see development of modules and backbone stuff pick up pace.

Would anyone want the CV/MV-22?

Hell yeah.

Would anyone get the CV/MV-22 in the recent future?

Hell no.

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

I voted Yes +1,

Just to hear those huge tilt rotors, even if implemented at FC3 level with just basic start up avionics or something like FSX

to have that in DCS World would get me into choppers plus the Boeing AH-64 Apache or the AU ARMY ARH EURO TIGER - https://youtu.be/Ms-duGpGjx8. I really don't like anything else but those as a chopper fan. Although anything in aviation is a marvel of engineering talent, just love this stuff.

I recently had a good look at the Australian defense force EURO TIGER at the Air Show and a great chat with a young pilot. He was giving me a run down on how they interact with ground forces in missions and how they generally use the chopper and how they lengthen the range with external tanks and what not. He explained the helmet system - http://www.armyrecognition.com/paris_air_show_2011_news_actualites_pictures_video/thales_unveils_high-performance_topowl_helmet_mounted_sight_display_at_paris_air_show_2011.html .....this one here ....... http://cdn.newsapi.com.au/image/v1/08e87a3b78ad808d8a9c5ffbd41413e2 Just awesome also watch this one....

Well maybe one day we can have these as in game toys but I'm afraid you wont see them now. :dunno:

Nothing beats AH-1 Cobra for helos. I'd accept the Apache.

Sure.

Would also take the Boeing S-97 Raider and SSN-21 SeaWolf while we are it.

not exactly comparable considering the s97 is a prototype bird still in development and no in operational use.

Absolutely comparable as the probability of any of these making it into DCS before 2050 is zilich. Which makes these "Do you want ..." type threads really little more than a choir support group session. People who don't care for the vehicle ignore the thread, people who do say "+1". Neither makes a whit of difference.

That's what the naysayers said about the eurofighter....

And relative to the mv22 that's frontline combat jet. Not a utility tiltrotor
