AG-51_Razor
Awesome, how do you keep a hover when the tank(s) are filling up with water, is that a gut feeling or instrument work? I can only imagine increasing collective ever so slightly as the weights increases.. That is exactly what happens. You are leaning out in the bubble, keeping an eye on holding your position by looking around at land marks and NOT the water! The copilot is giving you a running account of the water quantity and you are slowly adding collective to keep your wheels at a constant elevation above the water - about 3 feet or so. Each load is increased by the amount of fuel burned so that you can maximize your efficiency. It takes about 40 seconds to get a load. If you watch the second Crane, you'll notice that he is entering the dip with his tank still unarmed and the doors are open. You will see a huge gush of water pouring out as he begins to snorkel, which is when he notices that he forgot to arm the tank. Stuff happens! :megalol: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

msalama
LOL Razor, thanks for yet another great anecdote. I really do thank you RL chopper guys for being around; but then, if the DCS copters weren't this good you probably wouldn't, right? Anyway, thanks again. S! The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
