Baro Altimeter Setting window

760 mmHg is the standard pressure, in aviation referred to as QNE to be set in the Kollsman window. The red line at 760 mmHg is just printed on for quick reference.

Hmm not sure that I understand the issue, seems to work as expected for me, tho in my opinion black vertical line that shows current position should be thicker.

 

 

These are with cockpit lights on, black line can be seen without lights also but it's even harder

 

 

EDIT: also the barometric altimeter scale pressure (mmHg) to altitude (meters) is accurate since in these pictures difference in altitude should equal to around 70m and that is exactly the case

Yes the red line you referring is on the disk, but the thin black vertical line of the windows is always on the 755 mmHg.

 

Does the black line move with the disk when you change the setting? I'm not sure if I understand the issue here?

Tick red line @ 760mmHg (std atm) on the turning disk

Thin black fixed wire on the instrument is the reference

 

 

If you want to reproduce try the Cold Start in Mozdok quick mission:

Mission data

QNH=766mmHg

Mozdok elev.=155m

QFE=752.52

Cockpit readings

Altimeter 755mmHg (as always from last cockpit uptate)

Elev=85m

If you set the QNH, you read 200m (no 155m)

If you enter 155m you read a pressure 5mmHg different from QFE

 

The pressure setting disk, or the texture on it, is not oriented correctly

I assume a typo here. You ment QNH, right? QFE is supposed give 0m on the altimeter.

I might try this later if I get the time.

I think what he's saying is that if he sets his altimeter to the QNH then the altitude shown is different to the airfield elevation. And if he sets it so that it reads 155m, which is the correct airfield elevation, then it's 5mmHg out from the correct QNH.

 

So yeah, a typo (probably - apologies if I misunderstood)

Yes indeed the scale seems to be shifted, not sure how I didn't catch it immediately tho :doh:

 

If you for example set QFE by airport instructions (or look at the briefing) it won't give you 0 altitude instead everything is shifted by X amount

 

It is shifted for around +6.5mmHg :joystick:

 

EDIT: Isn't Mozdok at altitude of around 135-140m? that would fit in perfectly with both QFE and QNH being off by +6.5mm?

@Holton181 yes I meant QNH

 

 

It's simple, the Ka-50 is not benefitted with an "automatic pressure", as other modules have (like Huey).

Until the cockpit doens't start at 760mmHg, the bug still present.

So, just tested the Cold Start at Mozdok, and at least in that mission you seem to be right. The disk is about 5~6mmHg off.

I also did some calculations (with an online aviation calculator) and the QNH and QFE are correct for the elevation.

I haven't tested any other mission, so can't be sure it's not a mission specific bug, but I find it unlikely to be.
