LawnDart
We found that changing pingPeriod =1 to a 2 or 3 in the config.lua file in the config\network\ directory helps reduce the stuttering in multiplayer, but I'm not sure exactly what these values are? Btw, for all you guys just doing combat, you probably haven't noticed much stuttering. I flew some dogfights last night and honestly couldn't tell the game stuttered until I got back into close formation. This has just been a real show stopper for us... (when is the patch coming???). LawnDart 1 [sigpic]http://www.virtualthunderbirds.com/Signatures/sig_LD.jpg[/sigpic] Virtual Thunderbirds, LLC | Sponsored by Thrustmaster Corsair 750D Case | Corsair RM850i PSU | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X CODE | 32GB Corsair DDR4 3200 | Intel i7-8086K | Corsair Hydro H100i v2 Cooler | EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW | Oculus Rift | X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty | Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB NVMe | Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB | WD Caviar Black 2 x 1TB | TM HOTAS Warthog | TM Pendular Rudder | TM MFD Cougar Pack | 40" LG 1080p LED | Win10 |

JaBoG32_Pjotr
As far as I know its the timeperiod the server checks the "ping" of the client. If it is set to 1 its checked every second, if it is set to 8 the time delay is eight seconds.
LawnDart
As far as I know its the timeperiod the server checks the "ping" of the client. If it is set to 1 its checked every second, if it is set to 8 the time delay is eight seconds. Although you could be correct, the only settings that work (remain in the config as entered) are 0.2-3.0 as far as I know. Any setting 4 and up defaults it back to a 1 the next time you open and check the file after a session. If you're theory is right, that should mean 3 would work better than 2 more than likely, however this is not the case for us. 2 works better than anything else we've tried yet. I'll experiment with decimals and other files in Lock-On tomorrow... Slammin
Lawndart, Try setting your maxpacketsize to something less than 500. I would suggest 384. LawnDart
Try setting your maxpacketsize to something less than 500. I would suggest 384. We've tried 100, 128, 250, 256, 384, 500, 750, 768 and so far 500 seems to work best for us. It's the "pingPeriod" we're mostly interested in finding out more about right now, since this is the thing so far that has had a huge impact on plane stutter! S77th-GOYA
From another thread, someone said that it is the interval that the host checks the ping of the client. Check the thread about stuttering.
