Through The Inferno (Persian Gulf) - Highly dynamic and endless task-based mission

Recommended Posts

I have SAM=0 and still get SAMs on Easy most the time. Just for input.

Basically this is the list of AA vs SAMs. I know some are still SAMs in the AA group, but I consider the "standalone" units that don't require a separate unit to be an AA threat alone.

 TemplateTable_SAM = {
 "sam_s3",
 "sam_s2",
 "sam_s10",
 "sam_s11",
 "sam_s6",
  }

  TemplateTable_AA = {
 "aa_ural",
 "aa_shilka",
 "aa_tunguska",
 "aa_strella",
 "aa_osa",
 "aa_manpads",
 }

Also, don't forget you can edit these units in the editor under the section where I allow you to edit these units. You'll have to add a -- before the ones you DON'T WANT appearing.

Awesome. I also have a question about the A2A spawn times. I see that it's coded in seconds, with the minimum being (by default) 1680 seconds (28 minutes), however for some reason air units spawn within about 5 minutes when I run the mission. Is the initial spawn time unrelated to the respawn time?

Initial spawn is a hardcoded time value for now... however;

Look at the Trigger List Persian SP.lua file embedded inside the miz (you can use 7zip to extract it)

Go to line 2525

You'll find this

    timer.scheduleFunction(function()
   main_ambient()
   end, nil, timer.getTime() + 240  )

That number value is the time in seconds for when the auto-spawning A2A starts. 240 seconds is 4 minutes into the mission start.

You can change this if you'd like, I might make it an option in the near future. Just remember that the auto-spawning A2A won't begin until after this time.

That's odd. On easy I get no SAMs when I set to 0, unless you count SHORADs as SAMs. I'm not sure what gets classified as AAA or SAM in DCS.

For me all the A2G settings work fine. The A2A guys need a leash of some kind--I got hard-locked by three MiG-23s while I was still sitting on the Stennis :lol:

DD clarified this a few posts after mine - Quote: I know some are still SAMs in the AA group, but I consider the "standalone" units that don't require a separate unit to be an AA threat alone.

Make sense to me :thumbup:

@deadlyfishes, Hey mate, I'm loving the new TTI SP missions, well done. I have one question, I have made an A-4E-C client spawn on Stennis by copy and paste from an existing Hornet client. When I go to add an AI wingman by increasing "1 of 1" to "1 of 2", a message pops up saying "no parking available for your aircraft".

Is there a way around this?

Cheers!

I know I'm new and moronic, but:

How do I tell which waypoint is what?

AGE-1... AGE-10 doesn't tell me much on the kneeboard.

The briefing doesn't specify the actual target area or IP.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm still missing it.

Ah right, so you need to request the intel of which mission is up.

F10 other > Intel reports > Request mission location intel

The pop up will tell you which mission is up with a WPT number.

Found it! Thanks!

Do enemy aircraft know exactly where you are? Seems I'm not off the carrier yet (starting up and looking for mission intel menus) and there's someone just circling it, waiting for me to take off so they can shoot me down.

That's not very nice. =)

Enemy AI cheat very much so. See if you can go in the mission editor and remove the setting on the carriers that hold fire, if they aren't shooting back.

Hoi Deadly,

I have been enjoying your mission doing anti-ship missions. I have changed all the ships to return fire and combat status auto from green. The problem I have is that they only open fire after being hit. Is there a way to make them engage incoming vampires or better to open fire as soon as I launch at them?

In the editor, the ships placed for anti-ship are pre-placed, you can edit their properties as you like. Remove all their ROE/alert settings or change it to RED and WEAPONS free if need be.

Keeps crashing for me during loading in VR.

Did you make any changes to the mission at all?

Nope, not a thing.

What are your specs?

Are you running the latest version of DCS OpenBeta?

Does it work in non VR?

Are there options for wingmen or other flights? I'd love to have a set of F-15s escorting my A-10 while enemy jets are trying to kill me.

*Note*

Duh. I found the -create ... command. =0)

And the other bits. What a great piece of work this is!

Yes, latest open beta. I am on a i7 4790K OC @ 4.7, 1080Ti OC, 16GB RAM (downloaded off the internet of course), Samsung Pro SSD.

I only asked because I read some comments that it was crashing in VR for others as well so was just wondering if its stable in VR now.

New VR Simpit: Intel 10700K, MSI Seahawk X 1080Ti (waiting for 3080Ti or 3090), 32 GB 3600MHz RAM, HP Reverb, TM Warthog

Old VR Simpit: Intel 4790K, Asus Matrix 780Ti, 16GB RAM, HTC Vive

I got some small suggestions for this great work:

1 - set the time in minutes in settings - you can do later something like:

local a2a_respawn_time_min = userInput * 60

2 - maybe you should randomize those times too:

a2a_respawn_time_max = math.random(60, 120);

3 - if we already have RAT here, why not add CAM (Civil Aircraft Mode)? - https://cam.em-key.de/

Those russian planes looks like crap compared to CAM.

At the end, one question: when a random SAM is activated, i get a message to call some SEAD support - how i can do that?

Thanks again for this great mission/work, :thumbup:

Having some really strange issues. Russian planes refuse to start their engines in TTI SP Persian Gulf mission. I jumped between Su27, Su25 and mig29, Shift-L, then Shift-Home - nothing. I jump into an A10A - it works.

I've noticed this sometimes on the mP server as well. What could be causing this behavior?

@deadlyfishes, Hey deadly, I've reported this on discord as well.... I tried the latest versions of PG and GC, appears auto scripts to spawn enemy are not starting. Also there are no AWACS and Tankers starting (this I fixed by unchecking Late Activation). Definitely no enemy or drones spawning at mission start to give JTAC target status.

Cheers!
