F/A-18C Kneeboard

Hi.

You must create exatcly FA-18C_hornet folder under "...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard".

Then you can use your own kneeboard files in the aircraft.

Have fun.

Thanks for this. I was actually looking for the correct file structure for liveries but I imagine this is the same way.

Thank you. Also - the kneeboard shortcuts work! (Thanks Belsimtek - I guess).

But what if there isn't a ''kneeboard'' folder there to begin with?

Just do what Devrim in the first post said:

I also cut from the manual the cold start process, and converted into JPG's to add into the kneeboard. I'll check in a bit to see if it works...

I made the folder, put some files in it, but they don't show up in sim. Do I have to convert them jpeg or something? I also tried to the kneeboard maker app with no success. I added the files I want and it converted them, but they don't show in sim either.

So you have to have the pilot body enabled to see the kneeboard? It won't show up on the shift K kneeboard?

So I'm scratching my head... I've created the following folder:

C:\Users\USER_NAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\FA-18C_hornet

But still do not see custom kneeboard pages with Shift+k; only default maps. It also looks like pilot body kneeboard is not working at all.

Any ideas?

P.S. Also, not sure if it's normal, but I had to create DCS.openbeta folder as I did not have it (I did have folders for the old 1.5 DCS and 2.0 Alpha however). Is that normal?

Not it's not. Did you update your DCS from a different branch to OpenBeta using the updater? This won't change the name of the folder. In that case you probably need to use the same name than your DCS installation uses. Note that a clean install of OpenBeta will install to "DCS World OpenBeta" and as such "DCS.openbeta" is the correct folder for "Saved Games".

Also note that the images should be in a format recognized by DCS. I'm not sure of the restrictions. I am using 768x1024 PNG files without transparency, works like a charm.

You can also try the legacy approach and place it in the DCS installation directory:

E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\Terrain\Kneeboard\FA-18C_hornet
