nick_thain
Gudday All, My StreamDeck has stopped responding in standalone DCS World Open Beta 2.5.6.4931. After some troubleshooting :book:, here's what I've found: StreamDeck has correct key mappings (ie. matches DCS modules) Issue occurs in both current StreamDeck software and older builds Issue does NOT occur in Steam version of DCS World Open Beta 2.5.6.4931 Issue does not occur in other sims (tested XP11, FS2, P3d) I hope I've reported this in the correct 'Bugs & Problems' forum thread, apologies if not. Has anyone else had this issue? Cheers all, Nick
PVI_Eagle
You have to install stream deck software in C disk ( not D ,E ....) , try it..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
nick_thain
It’s already installed on C.. However both DCS installs (stand-alone and Steam) are on external SSDs.
BaD CrC
My 3 streamdecks are working fine with 2.5.6 so far. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
nick_thain
Thanks @Bad_CrC, To help me narrow this down, could you provide the following? - Are you running standalone DCS World or the Steam DCS World? - Which software version are you running on your Streamdecks? - Which 2.5.6 version are you running, is it .4931 like I am? Thanks again!
BaD CrC
I am running standalone DCS World Openbeta and flew on yesterday's patched version with all the mini, Standard and XL working at the same time. I am usually updating Streamdeck software whenever I am asked to so I suppose I got the latest version. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
nick_thain
Figured it out during a customer support call with Elgato: - Stream Deck software had to be running 'As Admin' (headslap) Everything else was running as admin, but not the Stream Deck app. Thanks for your help all, we can put this one to bed ;)
Thermal
"Everything else was running as admin". Thats your problem right there. A <userland> Streamdeck cant access and <adminland> DCS or any other admin process. Thats the operating system operating by design. Once you start running (and installing) programs as admin you start down a dark path.
Demon214
Figured it out during a customer support call with Elgato: - Stream Deck software had to be running 'As Admin' (headslap) Everything else was running as admin, but not the Stream Deck app. Thanks for your help all, we can put this one to bed ;) Just got my Stream Deck today and was having the same problem not working in DCS until I found your post. Once it was running in ADMIN mode it works great. Thank You
Lange_666
You have to install stream deck software in C disk ( not D ,E ....) , try it..... Does this have a reason? Because i always try to avoid installing anything on my C drive. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. I've run mine as admin and it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance Can you give us some more info Which Streamdeck are you using? Which version of the Streamdeck Software and Firmware are running? DCS Standalone or Steam? DCS Stable or Open Beta & which version? What's running on the Streamdeck, keypresses, CTyler's add on or both? Run both DCS & Streamdeck as Admin, make sure there is no power saving allowed on the USB ports (Windows has a nasty habit of re-enabling them from time to time on updates) I'm running a StreamDeck XL, Firmware 1.00.007, Software 4.9.3.13222 with DCS Open Beta, Standalone version 2.5.6.61527 and it's working for both keypresses and CTyler's add on for a range of modules without any issue
