Badhorsie53
Since the beginning of Flight Sims theres always been add-on user mods, skins, etc...and we all know that along with the goods comes the bads. Sometimes its a bad mod and sometimes its installed incorrectly and sometimes people dont have a clue how to install them. Since there's much potential of paywares and new features of 2.5 wouldn't it be nice to have a free add-on dropbox? A place a person could take a 3rd party add-on and just drop it in the box, then DCS would check the files for integrity and then properly install the add-on. This would end decades of hassles and messing up a good program like DCS. What do you think? Has this been dicussed before? Could it be a future feature to DCS? feefifofum
There is a robust mod section of the forum; a community maintained central dropbox would be lovely, but consider we already have the User Files section of the ED website. The main issue with your idea, I think, is that ED doesn't have time do to quality control on every item that someone sticks in a folder...nor should that be their responsibility. Installation of mods is relatively simple and several excellent community-made programs are available such as OvGME to assist with the process for individuals who aren't comfortable with pasting files into a directory themselves.
