[REPORTED]2.1 Weak floodlight

Hey good Pilots, hope all is well.

I apologize if these issues in 2.1 NTTR have already been reported. The first is that on the main page when you go to select either Campaign, Quick Start or whatever. Well if you click on “Mission” nothing happens, it just hangs and you have to ctrl alt delete and close DCS down to get outta there and it’s been like that for quite a while now. The other is and more importantly I think is when your in a night mission the cockpit flood lights hardly make any difference to what you can actually see in the cockpit. Unlike 1.5 when you turn on the cockpit flood lights the whole interior is lit up beautifully. I’m hoping they can sort that out cause it’s s really difficult to make anything out even when using the night vision gogs. Well that's my beef and I hope a DEV is reading this and puts it on the to do list.

As for the floodlight, was your canopy open? The floodlight is mounted on the canopy rail so you'll get almost no light if it's open but it lights the cockpit up just fine once the canopy is closed.

I agree with the floodlights being broken They come on with the emergency switch or the dial control, but don't light up a thing.

Not with deferred shading on the don’t.

I'm using deferred shading and have light that I find to be reasonable. Maybe it's just because I haven't flown the Hog in 1.5 to compare.

Try deleting your settings lua in your saved games folder. This happens to me about once or twice a month and it solves it. Bignewy is a pretty good resource. And sithspawn.

Just did a quick check with the latest 2.1, flood lights are still not bright enough even when the canopy is closed. And the engine instrument lights don't work at all.

I just checked as well, the flood light isn't that bright after all. I guess I just forgot what it was supposed to look like and learned to work with it so didn't see anything wrong.

As for the engine instrument lights, they work fine on my end.

Totally man, it's been like that for ages now and I just sent ED support crew a mesg about it so hopefully they'll check it out when time permits

FYI, I contacted Sithspawn last week and he verified the flood light issue is already reported in mantis.

It’s tied to deferred shading, flood lights work the same as previous with deferred shading set to OFF.

Good to know, tnx Scott. Leaves us with the saturated green text (on MFCD's etc); it that also reported? Or something not recognized yet?

Thanks again BN, I'm glad this prob is recognised. I won't bother flying without def shading on as you can see why. It's cool, I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

It is still not corrected in 2.2, with deferred shading on - floodlights do not illuminate the cockpit at all :(

Sorry guys, we can only report the issues, we have no control on when they will be addressed.

Hopefully with 2.5 out the end of January we will see some progress with some of the lighting issues.

Hotfix 3 for 2.5 is out by now, still nothing new to the cockpit lighting with deferred shading on?

I was flying the night with my a-10c (2.5 hot fix 3.0), the fog light does not light, can not see the buttons even with all connected, with nvg worsened the panel is all blurred, can not see the numbers , the acronym, can not see anything inside the plane.

Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

There has been no patch to this bug yet. Flood lighting in the A-10 remains very dim or completely nonfunctional for the time being. Doesn't seem to be a problem on your end.
