DCS-SimpleRadio Standalone

I've never had any issues with SRS but since yesterday when others are talking to me their voice starts low and increases in volume until it is so loud its distorted.

 

Any thoughts on this?

Ive had this too. What is your speaker boost set to. I had mine all the way up. I set mine to 16 and that seems to have fixed it. It seemed to only happen with two radios in receiving at once though.

Issue 1.

A10C. VHF AM. I set dial to "Pre" with radio on, and SRS never shows in the overlay the "C". So essentially, the mode switch isnt actually working.(Might not be and SRS issue, but thought I would drop it here to see if someone else is getting it.)

Issue 2.

I have opened the .TXT files for both the VHF AM and UHF radios for the A10C in SRS and edited them. Issue 1 above prevents me from testing VHF AM, however, the UHF radio actually SHOWS that I am on "Preset", but it doesn't read the .txt file within SRS for the UHF. So its still reading the internal freqs set God knows where in DCS. So how do I get DCS/SRS to make nice and actually read the .txt files for channels in the SRS folder?

Issue 3. Which is more like a clue I'm tossing out in hopes that it leads to a resolution. When I open the overlay on the desktop as opposed to the Shift+ctrl+ESC, I can select to CH tab of each radio, but the dropdown doesn't work and the RELOAD button is grayed out.

If I've miss something in the forums, I humbly apologize for the repeat, but I've scoured the thread pretty heavily before posting.

I am hoping that its something REAL dumb and simple that I am missing.

Hi all!

I have a problem, every time I run the simple radio I get this message every time I run it:

"The SRS client windows is no longer visible likely to a monitor reconfiguration"

IT seems that works but the reality is that I try to connect as a client and it is impossible for me, never connect.

The only way to fix it that I have found is to reinstall SRS every time that I want to use it.

There is some way to repair this inconvenience.

crash just after startup

running the server the normal window pops up then goes of after about 3 seconds, same occurs with the client, I've tried reinstalling both 1.5.8 and rolling back to 1.5.7 but both do the same now, no new software was put on the pc, logs attached

Also would it be possible to have an option to set a single global frequency option that both red and blue could hear, a guard frequency as such if you will, just we did an op recently where we had to escort red fighters out of controlled air space but we could not contact them as we had coalition radios set, so a single guard frequency option would be a great addition

I'm having a weird situation with version 1.5.8.0 where even when I'm not running SRS at all I'm still seeing the DCS-SRS Client in-game window. It will show the familiar:

No Radio Connected
Connect to SRS Server and
start or join a mission
  

I've checked Task Manager and DCS-ClientRadio.exe isn't running, and checking all through the running programs doesn't show anything that looks like any SRS related driver or program. Is this normal, or is this some kind of setting somewhere?

EDIT: As with Ciribob above, I can close the window with the Cntrl + left shift + ESC keys... but my question is why it still appears at all if I'm not running SRS.

Any reason why my mic output options are always overwritten back to nothing each time I close the client? Input seems to stay ok and all my other settings save, even when I manually changed the config file it erased it after closing the client

That window is native to DCS - it's drawn regardless of SRS running as it doesn't know if SRS is running

Ahh. I did not know that. I'd never seen it before using SRS so that was the logical conclusion barring any other info.

One of the things I noticed since the last update is that I am not getting the Tx and Rx click sounds now.

I am going to try and uninstall and reinstall to see if that corrects the issue. Not sure why that had broken though.

It would be very useful for me to "delay time while slowing down"

I've just recently set up SRS, and the only thing that I cannot get working are the presets. I've put a text file in the Simple Radio root directory (in this case, called 'r828.txt' and filled it with a couple of frequencies for use with the Su-25. I've tried other radios, on other airplanes as well. However, I've not been able to get SRS to read these files to populate the presets.

What could I be doing wrong?

Left Control + Left Shift + Escape

Can this program be modified to just work as a standalone on other games ? I.E. BOS/CLOD/Arma... etc. Like TACVIEW which is compatible with multiple sims.. Even it it was an overlay with no terrain masking.

Would it be possible to set the Radio N Audio Channel (Both/Right/Left) depending on aircraft?

In the A-10C, I prefer to have Radio 1 set to Both and Radios 2 and 3 to Right and Left, respectively.

But in the F/A-18C, I'd actually prefer Radio 1 Left and Radio 2 Both, and it would be a bit cumbersome to change these settings prior to each flight.

Setup the settings as you want them for each aircraft, and rename the client.cfg appropriately. Then use the "-cfg=" flag to load the appropriate one.

Great app! seems if i set the radio below 118.00 it wont show up on overlay. seems to still work tho.

I've searched this thread, but I cannot find a reference to my issue, and I find it unlikely that I would be the very first to have this issue, so...

I have a Thrust Master Warthog throttle. I want to use button 15 (left throttle lever, red button at the front) with a modifier (TM HOTAS Joystick paddel) to toggle the Overlay on and off.

The button number is what appears in the Windows 10 Test tab:

Settings -> Devices -> [Related Devices] Devices and Printers -> Throttle - HOTAS Warthog <Right-Click> -> Game Controller Settings -> [installed game controllers] Throttle - HOTAS Warthog -> Properties -> Test tab.

When I press the red button, the 15 lights up on the Test window. When I use the same button in SRS Controls -> [Overlay Toggle] -> Set it records [button] 14, not 15.

I use the TM HOTAS Stick Paddel as a modifier, which is 4 in the Windows test, but 3 in SRS. So both are offset by 1, which to me is basically no big deal. But when using them, I cannot toggle the Overlay on and off.

Any tips?

There are 2 overlays...

(1) the overlay toggled via the hotkeys defined within the SR Control Panel - This can be dragged and re-sized etc... the original overlay.... this should (it does with me) work just fine with your TMWH red button and MODIFIER. If not the problem is probably local.

(2) a non scalable overlay primarily but not exclusively used in VR. It has several 'states'. By default this overlay and 'state' is toggled on and off via LCTRL+LSHT+ESC. It will only appear if DCS is running. This toggle combination is defined in C:\Users\Gizzy\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\SRSConfig.lua currently line 5.

You may change this combination but as I understand it inly keyboard characters may be used. You could get round this with a mapper if you really wanted....
