S60 Anti air Artillery ( with SON 9 radar & PUAZO 6)

This is quite an important Anti air system for mid 1950's - 1970s.

Was used most notably in Vietnam, 1967 6 day war, and the 1973 Arab-Isreali war. Although retired entirely by Russia by the 1980s, it still has export users around the world, that have retained this old anti air system into the present day.

This system can either be used manually via optical sight on the gun ( if radar systems not present) , or be directed with radar guidance for increased effectiveness and accuracy.

RAZBAM is doing a 60s asset pack for the MiG-19

I think this should be done by ED, because this applies to conflicts outside of the 1960s. IN the same way SA2 is from the 60s, but can applied to many other conflicts and still in use today.

For EG: the S60 system would very much fit on the upcoming modern Syria map that ED is making, as its used by both government forces and some have fell into ISIL hands, as well as many other militant groups.

Here you go Stratos, you did comment on it but I’m sure you probsbly don’t remember because there’s not much news yet. No confirmed units yet. I wonder how much overlap there is with Falklands?

Not only the S-60, but also the M1939 and KS-19. All of these have seen extensive use in pretty much every conflict since WWII and are still in service today around the world. They're absolutely essential and it's mind boggling that they're still missing from the DCS inventory. Especially needed is the KS-19 which can reach up to altitudes around 40,000ft. This would change the entire dynamic of DCS for the better, instead of like it is now were all you have to worry about at 15,000+ feet is the odd SAM.

-Col. Russ Everts opinion on surface-to-air missiles: "It makes you feel a little better if it's coming for one of your buddies. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities."

DCS Wishlist:

MC-130E Combat Talon   |   F/A-18F Lot 26   |   HH-60G Pave Hawk   |   E-2 Hawkeye/C-2 Greyhound   |   EA-6A/B Prowler   |   J-35F2/J Draken   |   RA-5C Vigilante

Absolutely agreed

Plus other AAA systems too. What gets me is the complete lack of RADARs in DCS.

And as part of the 2.7 update we now have this gun system. I noticed that this gun is of fairly higher quality than the ZSU-57-2, particularly around the muzzle.

Hi, good news for S60. In DCS at the moment is working with some radar and optical designator?

It's running on basically magic right now, presumably using the invisible crew's eyeballs.

I'm pretty sure the SON-9 [NATO: Fire Can] FCR is coming for it, but I hope ED supports its 2 main modes. There is also an optical designator, but I don't think we're getting it (it's essentially a Soviet reversed-engineered Kommandogerät 40 that we have in the asset pack).

Any updates to this now that the AAA S-60 is in game?   If we have the Firecan beside the S-60, what else is needed to get direction to the guns?

i haven't tested yet, but putting SON-9 in a group with S-60 should be enough to give radar direction to the guns...
