I'm not sure if that's possible with vbulletin forums, but what about another layer besides human verification (which is useless if it's not bots but actual people) like this: Make a new group for users with postcount lesser than 10. Prohibit such users from posting (external) links or placing them into the signature. I guess they could still post, but at least they won't place any active malicious links. I do not think they are bots as they can easily get past the registration captcha, which makes it worse knowing some poor soul is sitting there doing it. Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
