@BST: When can we expect the Mi-8 manual to be available?

That would be a no.

"will complete" is a vague definition. We know they have had a tough time. But at least they are having many modules to complete. We know they need money, manpower, but we can wait for the next module MiG15. Just focus on completing all the others. MiG-15 can wait. (DCS has many incoming modules)

I don't mean no offense, but this is a normal response from a customer.

I love the Hip, but I can't read Russian, so I can't operate the helo at full performance without reading manual. That's all.

From 16 Sept.

If there are any further delays, we'll at least provide a working draft so you know it's in progress.

Alright, the manual working doc is on its way for review and formatting. There are still some bits of translation left, but no more than a day's worth. It does however still need a thorough editing pass at the moment not only for general language, but consistency in terminology and naming conventions. Shouldn't be more than a few days.

Personally would rather have the MiG-31. It's the only module/aircraft I would after buying the Mi-8 consider spending money on. Otherwise I have all the DCS modules that interest me and won't be adding to them anymore (except if they decide to make a Su-30 or Su-35 of the complexity of MiG-21 - something that I know I can only dream of).

This is great news, can we infer from it that in the future the manual will accompany the module in a more timely fashion?

Thinking about the AH-1 primarily here.

Guys I know that everyone is upset, heck I LOVE printed manuals, so I am dying for this too... I cant learn an aircraft well without that big hunk of paper on my desk, but we cannot, and will not let comments get out of hand, we still have rules no matter how mad anyone might be. You see why ED doesnt like giving more firm estimates, things can always come up to bite you in the backside. I will ask that something be said, but trust me, I will also ask not to give any more detailed estimates on delivery dates as well.

PM me if you have anymore questions, and please behave.

Still this fixes nothing.

If they were to say for example "We hope to have it available December 10th 2014".

There would be no more questions about it and people would move on. Until then people will continue to guess and chat about what they hope and think will happen.

Nope, I would rather see them say "we are working on it, and will get it to you when its done" instead of "we are working on it, and expect to have it in a few days"

Can you see the difference in the statement, its huge.

I'd rather have them say "we are working on it, and expect to have it in a few days" and then actually getting it after a few days.

After so many "soon" promises, I personally have given up, although you, Sith, may find my lack of faith disturbing. ;)

I am actually fine with not getting the manual this year, I just rediscovered how amazing the KA-50 is :)
