probad Posted June 18, 2017 Share Posted June 18, 2017 (edited) stealth didnt all of a sudden sprout out of nowhere with have blue, umfitsev's paper on steath shaping was 1962 and the sr-71 was revealed in 1964. the boxiness of the prop in the movie is likely a coincidence that arose from mashing "russian" shape language from the mig-25 onto a sr-71-esque configuration to convey the notion of a secret, high-altitude, high-speed aircraft. with all its perpendiculars and mismatched edges, it would have been anything but stealthy.
