Vid Card, or New Headset...

Decisions Decisions.

I have around $600 budget right now to invest into DCS (Or gaming in general).

I have a R5 3600, 16GB Ram, and a GTX 1080 (Non ti). This run an Oculus CV1 with no issues at a Pixel Density of 1.4, enough I can easily pilot the F18, which is my main craft.

Been looking at getting either a RTX 3080 or 3070 as a GPU upgrade, but got to say, the Reverb G2 is crazy tempting. I know I'd probably have to lower the pixel density to run it on the 1080 in DCS, but the added clarity sounds so good.

The other option is...just keep saving. See what comes out in a year or two, and possibly buy new headset and video card at the same time...

Thoughts?

I'm tempted to get G2 as well, but I'm not sure how well it would work on 2070S. It probably will, as it's ~4K resolution which roughly corresponds to what I have with Rift S at 1,5 PD give or take 15%. But in your case with 1080 the answer might be both.. With current card you may need to scale down way too much to get it in playable range.
