    • Stick with realism. What’s not on the real thing should not be in the module.

Also, do we know what "year" each gazelle model is from?

Lol, I think Polychop make it up as they go along - in part due to limited access, variation between individual airframes, restricted/limited documentation, etc.

What we do know is, that whatever year(s) Polychop assign to them - they'll be flying with a SA-342M flight model.

Hopefully they've stayed fairly close to the 'real' with the SA-342M but the other variants look to be 'nice to have' themed variations, rather than wholly realistic (which is why I find the removal of NVG from 2/4 of the variants, somewhat arbitrary).

Here's a SA-342K (export model) airshow static, that looks suspiciously like our L

Voted to make an exception and consider implementing them. Make them a special option so the purists can keep them disabled if they wish. Rationale is purely for gameplay reasons. Most of the missions on the 'big' servers have the whole complement of Gazelles available, and a lot of these missions transition into night. There tend to be fewer helos available than fast jets, so it simply provides more options to fly rather than having the non-NVG variants sitting empty.

Sure we can mod in the NVG, but it'd just be easier to have the option.

Thanks for considering this Polychop.

avionics mechanic and 10 years of runway sa341l pirate squadron:

all gazelles are compatible NVG, the backlight modification compatible NVG

was done on all the gazelles of the army,

then yes, all gazelles are compatible; the question no longer arises.

Yes - allow NVG for L. Doctrine is not a reason against. Service policy or airworthiness policy may restrict operations in certain modes - but probably not for operations.

In-compatible lighting is just an inconvenient issue that can be worked around, like we did in the early days.

Go for it - allow the user to strap on the goggles.

toutes les gazelles sont compatible jvn, la modif du rétroeclairage compatible jvn

à été fait sur toute les gazelles de l'armée de terre,

alors oui toute les gazelles sont compatible jvn la question ne se pose plus.

Sorry, but I find it 'interesting' that you think about such things, instead of focusing on getting the module ready at last ...

FR/ Damienntrix, je crois que ce mod ne marche plus. Tu l'as essaye recemment? /FR

I think this mod is not working anymore but I can be wrong. I have read on this thread that flying NVG in an aircraft is a matter of putting on NVG and that's all. Remember you have to be able to read the intruments too and as such, lightning and avionics must be compliant too, which might not always be the case with an aircraft that was designed half a century ago.

Now, reading what Damienntrix said earlier about all the Armee de Terre Gazelles having their panel retrofitted for flying NVG, it is worth inquiring further.

Yes you're right, the whole team is focused on this poll alone... :music_whistling:

Kidding aside, as we have stated before we want to update the Gazelle after we have reached some milestones of our yet to be announced new module. We deem community input to be quite important when it comes to these planned updates. Enhancing the flightmodel has been discussed before and won't require a poll like this one, it's quite obvious this is something that needs to be done. Same goes for a number of bugfixes, we will try to implement them as soon as possible.

The Gazelle's we originally modeled did not have the NVG compatible cockpit lighting. We thought it would be a good idea to ask the comminity for an opinion on this for a possible future implementation.

Please, this is an english speaking forum, can you stick with the rules so everybody can follow the discussion ? If you're not fluent, you can use Google translate, it's not that bad, in fact it is pretty good lately.

Thank you for your imput though.

YES.

Because it is not a big thing to mount a NVG on the helmet. The helicopter itself is limited by his poor loadout of weapons. A NVG would offer the L more chances, because in the dark you don´t have to stay too far from your enemy and you have the possibility to get him in range of your gun.

The results of this poll are clear. We've added NVG support for both the L and Mistral versions. The M and Minigun versions already have them. For more details on this and more, check out this sitrep. Thanks for voting!
