BS Campaign - Deploy FAM Flight issues

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

after a few years of break, I went back into the KA50 and started the campaign from scratch.

Immediate issue with the first mission (FAM Flight) though.

I know I need to follow the Hind (105) through the waypoints and he happily keeps on explaining everything till he mentions the mountains to the right and announces that we climb up the hill.

Shortly after that (3 times in a row) he smacks into the side of the hill and that is it.

The mission will not complete.

Any ideas?

Thanks !

I flew it just fine to completion in 2.5.5 stable. Haven't had a reason to revisit it in 2.5.6

The campaign is broken in 2.5.

This one partially fixed it (Waypoints are not correctly set but I managed to complete the mission without the Hind kissing terra firma....)

Interested to know why you say (Waypoints are not correctly set) what is wrong with them ??? (Missions worked fine pre DCS 2.5.6.)

I may give it a quick retest with DCS 2.5.6, I expect it to be broken as 2.5.6 is a no go for me, has way to many issues with ME and DCS engine in general affecting a lot of missons.

Hi Ian,

First of all a BIG THANKS for putting in the effort to fix this (one should think that ED should ensure these still work with the current stable release as they are still selling the module after all for good money....). Anyway :D

I just flew the Deploy 1 mission - FAM Flight - again.

The last WP is missing in the route computer (back to base) - WP5 I believe.

Adding it or manually flying back to base worked fine and the mission completed. Thanks a ton for fixing this mission.

I also noticed the ED included your fixed missions in the release notes for 2.5.6 (G Oil campaign and single missions) but not the deploy campaign missions (at least mission 1 is different).

I also flew the 2nd deploy mission from your pack above but it did not work. No announcements, no mission start voice/text, flying all WP with the wingman, no escort targets and no enemy vehicles in sight. Will try it again later today in case I did something wrong.

Yeh I suspected the ABRIS waypoints, I think the shark can only have 5 waypoints, being 0-4, I never really double checked what you described as I put the users flight into an AI and have it do the mission for me so I can check it with out me manually doing it. Although there has never been any ABRIS data stored in that particular mission, and shouldn't have any waypoints points anyway, as you are meant to follow the other flight leader.

Noticed that, was good to see some of my efforts mentioned for the first time ever in a ED changelog. Deployment campaign is definitely not included in the DCS updates.

Would say that DCS v2.5.6x strikes again, yes mission 2 has the convoy you are to escort not following the waypoints and parking on the side of the road, therefore no mission go status. Known issue with vehicles not following road / waypoints, thought it might have been fixed by now.

After some Testing:

The convoy issue still exists in OB, but it all works OK in the internal DCS testing version, in Mission 2 and most convoys that have all their waypoint set to "On road" will drive the routes, but if they have some "Off road" waypoints at the end of the routes then when the mission is run, the convoy has no routes at all to follow and stays stuck at the start.

Regards, Ian.

Hi Ian,

Found one more issue with Mission 11. The player KA-50 spawns within another KA-50 upon mission start.

Thanks for the report, fixed mission 11 spawn problem and reuploaded whole Campaign.
