Always I tested all the released drivers, the one time I had to always go back to the older versi, due to the poor function of the Fast-sync.

The last three released drivers, for DCS it the best it can be, for the system that I have in the signature.

🖥️MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,🕹️VKB NXT Premium.

BuzzU,

give it a try. I have no lesser but also no better performance, they all seem very alike recently in regards to DCS.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/ is a good resource for judging if you should install the latest drivers and if there are issues. People are pretty quick to post comparison benchmarks within days.

After doing some more testing these drivers are better. Either that or my old drivers were bad. I left Nvidia settings on default. In DCS I clicked on the High setting and left it all alone. Which gave me High shadows and I said to myself this won't work for the F/A-18. I selected Instant Action and the free flight for the F/A-18. It doesn't do well with shadows on let alone on high so I was expecting poor performance. I was surprised to see 75-110 fps. Much better than my old drivers and with higher settings. Not bad for my little 1060 card.

I'm sure in heavy action i'll have to turn stuff down but for the way I tested the drivers I got an improvement. Keepers for me.

Those shadows are a fps killer indeed. In order to have maxed out everywhere else and ssaa 1.5x I needed to go medium-flat on shadows to always stay aboce 60 fps no matter what. With Shadows on HIGH and Standard for terrain/objects the 1080ti reaches it's limits already with 2560x1440.

Now, with the results for a 2080ti surfacing today, I dare to say that even a 2080ti will have to give all she got if you go ALL-In @ 4k and want 60 or more fps. Maybe one can skip any AA @ 4k as SSAA is a big hit on the fps.

Not sure if you still need any form of AA @ 4k ? Do they ?

The high setting sets the terrain shadows to high but cockpit is flat. I'm sure with more action i'll be turning some stuff down. My only point was the new drivers really helped me.

I'm also using a single 1080 monitor. So, that helps my fps. Also Trackir.
