and nobody has had the issue anymore where it does not detect a 3ds max install and the checkboxes are grayed out?

 

i have this issue too with 3ds max 2012 64bit :(

Win 8.1, I7 4770K 4.5ghz watercooled, 240gb SSD in Raid 0, 16GB DDR3-2400, EVGA GTX780 watercooled, LG 29EA73-P (2560x1080)

Cobra M5 *modded by BRD*, CH Pro Throttle, Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR5 Pro + Delanclip, Bose QC 15, TM Cougar MFD's

300/30 mbps

Just tried to install 88665 and I have this issue. Trying an older build now.

 

i have this issue too with 3ds max 2012 64bit :(

 

I used 88756 and didnt have an issue with 2012 x64

 

For 64 bit maxes please send me exported registry branches and screenshot for whichever version you have: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\12.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\13.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\14.0

a technical question

just id like to be sure (and i hope testers are permitted to answer this) but will we get a new model format as well with edge ?

(cmd, lom, edm, edgem?)

or everything will be the same ?: edm format continues to be used

however i think (and hope) by the latest modelviewer and plugins the edm format wont change

Aren't the newest versions of EDM Viewer compiled to use Edge already?, which is why if say, I download the latest version, it doesnt work (missing Components from EDGE).

 

As for Container formats..... anything is possible.

 

 

yes, it doesnt work, (missing dll files) but the file structures of latest modelviewer looks same as current/older but working version

however i did not try yet the latest plugin but i assume it will save/make same edm format which can be used in current 1.2.8 sim version too (without edge)...but can you guys confirm this ? (with latest plugin)

so if you make an edm model with latest (edge version) plugin in latest max (which able to handle edm plugin - 2014 right?) then that saved model will work in 1.2.8 as well ?

 

I havent tried, but I think the plugins are not edge specific. So i believe current plugins will work in current DCS version. Otherwise I probably would have heard of some issues like I have about ModelViewer

Usually yes, but I'm going out of my way here to push for a resolution to this issue and people aren't giving me the needed information. And I'm jetlagged

 

 

Just a heads up, if nobody who has the issue with 3ds max detection gets me their registry exports by the middle of next week, I am going to declare the issue resolved.

Im guessing chrome was added because of the plethora of polished Airframes coming... :)

i have a little problem and I cant see the lom or cds files is there any vesrion which this features works?

viewing .LOM formats are no longer supported. I do not know exactly when it happened but maybe try a viewer from a few months ago

Yes Bob. Every build after 76639, I've been getting some type of DLL error. Whether it's an api, math, etc. They all seem to be bin file types.

ohhhhhh this is for modelviewer? I am guessing it is still undergoing changes like it has been the past month or so. Use the one bundled with the sim for now
