Perhaps the same problem that PB0_CEF has seen, not sufficient space at the airbase?

 

It happens on all airbases, at least for my side, and large ones like Sochi-Adler as well. I have reduced the numbr of planes but the same thing happens. Could it be a problem with cordinates or elevation?

You use open beta ? If so, did you change the files accordingly ?

It seems that some base don't accept big planes like AWACS or Tankers on parking or at least not a big number of them ...

I think I found a possible solution for MP mission planning : :)

- flight plan appears in the kneeboard so players can see it :doh:

- Looking on the map F10 they can see the main fixed SAM zones.

- A script could load prepared targets screens automatically in the briefing to show detailled targets when sélected by DCE (airports fuel tanks, ammunitions etc... )

Mbot do you think this script is possible ? Example : When "Beslan airport" target selected load "beslantargets.jpg" in briefing

I think it works now, it could have been airdrome ID that was messed up. I copied the data from PB0_CEF, the db_airbases file you uploaded. It helped, thanks.

 

Another question:

I know there is some problem using Harms and other anti radiation missiles with the arm defence scripts. If I want to use Harms, can I just delete the script?

Sometimes when generating a mission with firstmission following message appears in the CMD window:

Hello,

 

I am trying this dynamic engine now and I must say it looks fascinating. Right from the first mission it is very immersive and if I needed another reason to fly the Tiger, so here it is !

 

I only have one question about the force balance. I tend to see my group and allies getting shot down very quickly, without shooting down any MIG-21. I am only at the early stage of the campaign so it could be a bad luck thing. But I am still curious to know if the pilots skills are generated randomly and/or if there is a glitch between AI F-5E and MIG-21 in dogfight.

 

Anyway it looks like a great adventure, thank you very much for sharing your work here !

Sorry Cristofer, can't help you :( Mbot can certainly do :smilewink:

I have big problems with Ai taxi in Vaziani : collisions or simply planes stopping moving always on the same crossroad. All missions are ruined after that :cry:

I will try to relocate some planes on other airbase but not sure it will help...I'm really disappointed :cry:

I have the same problem at Sukhumi-Babushara. Here on the screenshot, one SU-25T is blocking the way, and won´t move.

It seems that using more airbase is better to avoid blocking taxiing...

Mbot DCE is really surprising because it's able to make flight plans with far squadrons for coherent missions :thumbup:

I hope we will be able to insert target pictures automatically in briefings for MP to have a great Dynamic Campaign Engine :)

No this will not work. Campaign triggers are run before the ATO gets to work. So when the above code would be run, we would not know yet what kind of mission the player will get.

You can leave the script, it just won't affect HARM, Kh-25MP or Kh-58. It won't throw an error.

I have also seen this error from time to time when testing incomplete campaign setups, but to this date could not figure out what is causing it.

@Mbot : I noticed that when player is in intercept mission the AWACS has the same frequency so it's easier to have situational awareness with Wingmen and AWACS on the same frequency. Is it possible to have the same thing when player is in an Escort, Sweep or CAP mission ?

Range is given in the encyclopedia and ties up with other sources, e.g. FW190D-9 Range = 835km. Your db_loadouts.lua describes range as 'radius'. Does that mean we halve the encyclopedia Range or is the term Range used in the encyclopedia also the range Radius?

It's the same thing.

Currently it is hardcoded for packages to be on separate frequencies than AWACS/GCI, other than for intercept missions.

I don't know about the encyclopedia, it is probably not even standard between the entries. 800 km for a Fw-190 sounds more like ferry range for example. Anyhow, in regards to combat operations, range is a very variable thing, since it is highly dependent on altitude, speed and loadout. Also as implemented in DCS, there are probably significant differences between AI and player aircraft fuel consumption too. I wouldn't trust too much on encyclopeida or wiki data. The only thing that matters is performance in the game, so better test it directly in DCS.

 

In regards to DCE I would not worry about it too much with the current small size map and tactical aircraft. You can enter a (high) bogus number in the db_loadouts table if you want, it is simply used by the ATO to check if a loadout can be used on a target. In DCS, most aircraft will be able to reach almost any point on the map. I introduced the value in expectation of future larger maps. For example it could then be used to limit the ATO to assigning Su-24 to strike an aircraft carrier at a distance up to 500 km, while Tu-22M are assigned up to 2000 km.
