Flew a few mission and love it so far but would it be possible to have more information on the target to hit ? For example I'm tasked with attacking an airfield but only 6 target are taken into account 3 fuel tank and 3 warehouse the issue is I don't have any idea of which one. So I drop my bombs on random warehouse on the airfield, destroy them but they are not taken into account to calculate the level of destruction of the airfield. Luckily my teammate knows what to hit. I don't know if it is possible to have picture of the target or more information like the warehouse at ten north of the base or something like that.

Open the Flight Planner (I think it is called that way, the map in the briefing). Select your attack waypoint, then you can see markers on all targets.

Campaign Does not Progress Past Mission #1

 

Title pretty much says it. No matter how many times I try the campaign the results from the first mission do not carry over to the next. Specifically, although I (or my AI wingmen) destroy the EWR Site #102, shoot down multiple Migs, AND return to Nellis (full shutdown) when I quit the mission and go to start the next I notice that A) its the same mission (different time of day) and B) non of the other results (i.e. Mig shutdowns) seem to decrements the Red asset count.

 

I am not certain but I suspect something is not working with respect to the debrief Notepad file that is supposed to present me with the option to accept or reject the results. This file never appears during the debrief, rather I see CMD box briefly however, it neither last long nor does it provide options to accept or reject the mission results. It simply pops up, says its creating the debrief log file and closes. No option to accept or reject is provided.

 

Any ideas on how to resolve this would be great as I am stumped. I followed the instructions to a

T - correct file folder structure and edit to MissionScript file - but still no dice. Thanks!

Don't forget the N°3 Mbot advice here :

 

1. Open the file "Desert Tiger 76\Init\camp_init.lua"

2. Find the variable "log_path" and change it as appropriate.

3. Execute FirstMission.bat to generate a new fist mission.

 

Now my main problem is to survive Migs and ZSU-23 :music_whistling:

Hello Not sure if it is a bug or not:

 

I was tasked with destroying an airfield (Creech airbase) which I eventually destroy at 100% as indicated in the order of battle, the airbase is at 0%.

However there are still 7 Mig21 active at Creech airbase, still according to the order of battle, and when flying over Creech airbase I can see Mig21 taking off to intercept my flight.

 

I was thinking that if an airbase is supposed to be destroy at 100% no aircraft should be able to operate from it.

Can we have a test version with Caucasus so that we dont need two NTTR licvenses if we test MP as Client-server rather than hosting from our local machine?

 

 

You would have to have 2-licences of the navada map to run on Multi-ply?

 

Otherwise purchase the map.... you will be happy you did... and any TRUE DCS fan would HAVE TO HAVE IT>:smilewink:

I raised the same issue some pages back. It's a bug and fixed in internal development version (not yet released I believe).

Mbot, firstly just to say I can't get enough of your campaign, I play little else now to be honest. I'm not sure how much work is involved but I would love to see this for other planes. A10c for instance. I'm playing the F5 campaign presently but will try the mig21 as soon as I learn to fly it. Great work all round.

Mbot maybe something to check as well, I have had 2 escort mission so far and in both case the strike package did not attack the target. They either launch their bomb on some random vehicule or completly ignore the target and return back to the base with their bomb.

Do you remember the target names? As mentioned there was a problem where the AI would circle around and then drop their bombs behind the target (trying to level bomb from 20'000 ft). That should be solved now. There are also some situations when the mission is to strike parked aircraft at an airfield, that the AI is unable to see the targets from the attack alt and returns home with bombs still on board. I am not yet sure how to approach this, as the player would first start to dive and then spot individual targets on the run in (the AI obviously can't do this).

 

 

Just to let you know where things stand. In the past two weeks or so I have played over 30 full missions in Desert Tiger 76 and in the process found and fixed a multitude of bugs and problems. I still want to push it a little more to check some of the later triggers, but probably won't be able to finish a campaign in a timely way. I think there are still about 60% targets left, so the campaign is probably good for way beyond 50 missions. I won't release another beta version, as I think I have the Release Candidate at hand now.

One was an airfield (I think Pahute not sure) where the F4 drop their bomb on some reandom vehicle.

 

The other one was a EWR radar site (102 or 103 not sure) where only one F4 launch its bomb (but I don't know where, only thing I know is that it did not hit the target as stated in the debriefing) and the other 3 F4 return to the base without droping their bomb.

 

When I'm part of a strike package my teamate in F5 are very accurate in hitting the correct target (I'm not). So if it is the bug mentioned earlier it affect only Flight package of 100% AI and does not affect the AI of my own flight.

I have a possible explanation, as I have seen some similar cases. Perhaps the leader was hit during his attack run. He then jettisoned his bombs and returned to base. Unfortunately the wingmen will follow him back to base instead of continuing the missions.

Perhaps link this file in your original post or the latest version to make it easier to find.

 

While I'm sad you have currently discontinued the Mig-21 campaign, I'm excited to give the DCE for the F-5 and NTTR a try.

Finally, here is the MiG-21 version of the campaign ready for public beta testing. Thank you for your feedback.

 

This is a mirrored campaign with the same setup: USAF attacking and WP defending. As such, this is mostly an interceptor campaign for the MiG-21. So do not expect the same variety of tasks as with the Tiger.

 

Sorry for the unimaginative name, but I wanted it to be clear that this and Desert Tiger 76 are siblings. I do quite like the Desert Tiger name, a shame that the MiG-21 doesn't have a cooler nickname smile.gif

Could it be possible to have 2 types of radio channels : VUHF and UHF to be able to hear package planes and AWACS (or ATC) without changing channels ?

I see this would be a useful feature for planes with multiple radios. I will see what I can do in the future.
