r24
Following the procedures, the F-86 Saber's A to A radar does not track the target's range anymore. It worked some time ago but is not working now, has something changed or is it me?
WildBillKelsoe
please keep in mind that the Sabers radar is a range finding device not a full fledged AN/APG-68 pulse doppler radar. It is meant to simplify gun solutions in a rear aspect engagement, not get target distance in BVR or WVR >4 nm engagements. Meaning, its not for missiles but for a tracking gun solution bouncing off the maneuvering carcass pulling Gs ahead of you. some1
For the radar ranging to work, manual range adjust on the throttle has to be in the "extreme far" position.
