Default Does the Huey still slip on the deck of ships?

As it says in the topic. I haven't played for quite a while. I was thinking of making a mission which involves the huey landing on a US carrier. Will it slip like it used to?

It's still a bit slippy, but if the ship is heading in a strait line the helo will stay on deck.

Can't they fix it completely? I guess the Mi-8 won't slip because it has wheels, right?

The fix will come with the new carriers. Everything slips, wheels or not, but won't slide off the ship unless the ship is in a turn.

Is there a plan to introduce new carriers?

Yes. One from ED, one from Razbam, and one from Heatblur.

That's good. Hopefully they'll fix the decks of the smaller ships too, right?

I thought it had some to do with the elements as well Scrape? In our server sometimes we have wind, sometimes not, and as long as there is no wind, or the ship has the wind right on its bow, then there is no slipping.

This is for big and small deck ships. I fly primarily Huey and part of our LIFT program is the shipboard ops, and the above is based on my observations.

Lemme know if I am cracked!!

Wouldn't hold my breath as this issue has been on going for many many years. It's not as bad though as it used to be. But maybe that's because we adapted and made sure that the ship is either going straight all the time, or better, that it is fully stopped.

The wind is a factor, yes. However it is not the only reason the slip happens. As far as I can tell, using an educated guess, its in how the game engine defines what a carrier surface is. This is problematic because the game engine doesn't have a very defined idea of what a ship is other than to say it goes on water, and can move this fast, to put it simply.

The carriers had to be redefined, which meant the engine had to be re-coded to understand what to do with the ships, and the only way that could happen is from ED changing the engine itself. I strongly believe that is happening and we will see it when the new carriers arrive. Otherwise it would not be possible to do what they are going to do with the future carriers.
