TheFlyGuy
I'm from germany, so my DCS World starts in german, even if my Windows is set to English as default language. Sometimes it's hard to guess the german translations for actions during the configuration of input devices, therefore I would like to switch to an english GUI. I haven't found any option in the settings menu to change the games language.

Gruman
Changing the Language shouldnt take a manual config edit. This should be selectable under settings. I'm glad that there is a way to do it at all .. my daughter's game (The Sims 4) requires a full reinstall to change the language ... editing a text file wont kill anyone :) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

But the user wouldnt have wasted 20 min looking for this option in the settings and there would be one less support request topic in the forums ;). At least the game should ask while installing which language should be enabled. But that would be too easy! :smartass: True. Rudel_chw
... At least the game should ask on startup which language should be enabled. Are you serious? How many times a year one needs to change the game’s language? ... I would hate to be asked this every single time that I start the game. For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Lange_666
At least the game should ask while installing which language should be enabled. Would be a nice option if several languages are available. But not only games suffer from this, also other software and websites think they need to force a certain language based upon your location, even if your Windows or other software is set to another language. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

TheFlyGuy
Are you serious? How many times a year one needs to change the game’s language? Well, it wouldn't hurt to play the game (and listen to the tutorial instructions) in my first language. But whenever I watch tutorial videos about DCS on Youtube, all references to control actions are given in english (like "scs depress"). Sometimes the translations of these commands are - lets say - "creative" and I often need to search for quite a while to find the right command in the localised version of DCS. Thats why I would like to change the language of the game from time to time, just to setup my controls, and then switch back to my first language. Yes, the same happens to me, and also most DLC Campaigns are not available in spanish. My approach was to install DCS in english and only keep my own notes (for the kneeboard) on my native language. draconus
You both are doing fine on the english side of the forum so why even bother with native language? I would certainly not want to read/hear Polish in game unless stricly Polish Air Force is involved in the mission. If it's NATO forces english would probably be used anyway. Same if I fly russian bird I want to read/hear russian.
