So, then we should expect uboat modules for simulation in dcs?

Now there's a great idea for a bit of diversification for ED. Digital Combat Simulator could branch off into naval combat too, what I would give for a DCS level U-boat or Corvette with AI convoy to protect/attack. I can just see the multiplayer servers full of players in U-boats, Corvettes, guy's in Catalina's dropping depth charges on the U-boats. North Atlantic map, Mediterranean map etc. Not just WW2 stuff either.....Russian and US/British Submarines in cold war scenarios .....the list is endless. I know a LOT of Subsim guy's would jump aboard the ED bandwagon in a heartbeat if this ever came to pass.

Anyway, getting way off topic now....sorry. Started dreaming there!

I want to do a mission to chase V1 with Spitfire

Officially called "Operation Diver" and the Mosquito also had a role in doing just that :joystick:

Diver being the code word for the V1.

Getting excited about the P-47D. For some reason, that’s the only WWII fighter that’s ever appealed to me. Weird, I know.

Off topic - yes.

Know where you're coming from/ have the same dream - absolutely!!

Realistically - ED probably has more than enough on their plate with their combat aviation side, but it never hurts to dream (DCS: Atlantic 1940 - 45 :) ).

The Ju-88 is looking amazing. Be awesome if it went flyable someday! :pilotfly:

Absolutely!!

A Ju-88 was top of my list back when we got asked what we felt was needed.

The new AI version looks great. But, now that the FW190-F8 project has gone silent (*sob*), I'm back longing for a German bomber. Maybe one day?

Still, the new AI version looks great and I am really looking forward to "bombing off the wing" as we sometimes did back in the old days of a different sim.

So given DCS 2.5.6 is a major branch release, do we have an indication of which new core game features (other than maps, modules or module updates) will be included with this yet? I know the list won't be finalised yet, but what is likely?

New lighting, new damage model for warbirds... of course all is subject to change but that’s what’s expected.

I noticed in the last 2.5.6 screenshots, a significant improvement in quality reflections on sea (ships and hills reflected in 2.5.5 are more blocky). Please ED could you confirm any sort of improvement in this matter?

In addition, I like a lot the visble stars during night, nowadays in 2.5.5 the stars are nonexistant.
