max22
Most of the times I don't get incoming missile warning and just die, just a minute ago I got a warning and it took 2-3 seconds before an F-14 shot me down.
Darcwaynard
What type of missiles are they? You will only receive a warning for radar guided missiles. IR guided missiles give no warning and need to be spotted visually. WHOGX5
Remember that the RWR has pretty spotty coverage, and doesn't have any receivers on the top or bottom of the aircraft. So if you're in a bank, you will not get a warning until you start leveling out, or until the enemy is either in front of you or behind you. Also, it depends on how close the launching platform is. If an F-14 is within 5nm it will only take a few seconds for it to launch and subsequently kill you. So without a track where we can see the specifics of the situation, it's hard to determine what could be the cause of this behaviour. -Col. Russ Everts opinion on surface-to-air missiles: "It makes you feel a little better if it's coming for one of your buddies. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities."
