LukeFF
Somehow i feel sad for Luthier. Hopefully he get third change somewhere...great to hear project still continues and cockpit shots looks awesome! The thing is, this was his third chance. I just don't see him managing a project of this scope ever again.
fastfreddie
Go away to the mountains for a week and come home to see this ... Thanks DCS for taking over the project and not letting it die. My respect for your company continues to grow. The only question I have is if we backed for all aircraft at launch/beta ... how is this going to work? Are they just going to release each plane to us as they are finished(FW190, BF109K)? I am quite fine with the fact that some planes are going to take a while to be finished but I just wanted to know if those of us that backed will be getting the FW190 in August and others at future dates? wuffman
Luthier is like many great talent; needs a good manager. He is genius coder, but not so much resource manager. One cannot be everything.
Pizzicato
He is genius coder, but not so much resource manager. I wasn't aware of him being a coder at all. There's a spurious "Lead Developer" citation over at Moby Games, but my understanding was that he was one of those (many) guys in the industry that made the jump straight from QA to producer. http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,183150/ i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S

PJJ
Will you be sending e-mail updates to all the Kickstarter backers? I'm sure that not everybody is visiting these forums to read updates here. For example, I have never paid much attention to these forums, even though I play DCS sims.
Echo38
I trust that Eagle Dynamics will give this project the same standard of excellence as the P-51D.
Razor5-1
Is it the D28 or D30 for the P-47? Please tell me it was a mistake writing 30! Hate the bubble canopy
Barrett_g
The block 28 and 30 had minimal differences.... Both were bubbletops. It makes sense to make the block 30 as it was the most produced block. You'd have to go pre block 25 to find a Razorback configuration.

Even though this is now a completely different proposition to that for which I stumped up my cash for? I'd really like to know.
Mizzy
I now feel much more that the project is in trustworthy and competent hands. Thanks Wags. Oh yes, that is what I feel. It's in the hands of trusted people now ..phew !! Mizzy
Bearcat
I just saw this yesterday... too bad. :( I am very grateful to ED for picking up the mantle on this.. I had mixed feelings about backing this anyway but I did because I always try to give the benefit of the doubt.. I knew going in that I could potentially loose my investment.. but my more positive expectations were placed elsewhere anyway.. at least within the 12-18month time frame. Since ED is sticking with this I am more confident that eventually I will see what I bought into.. Pandacat
This is like building a zoo. First you have basic environment set up and put in some popular animals. Let the fan base to grow and solidify then expand the environment and put in some more exotic animals. Have D9 in then probably start working on the map, some ground objects and a bit of AI units. Once you have these things in, you'll have a decent size pool for the trigger happy sharks to swim in. People would start playing online/offline missions, forming squadrons and attracting other potential fans to join. More cash would start flowing in. By the time they get bored with these basic stuff, you will have other stuff pretty much ready (109k, p47, 262 or even b17). This is similar to how IL2 developped. First start with very basic and then mature over time.

I can handle a slowly developed environment, but the core will need much work to make it like 1944. Thats why I still believe there is not much way around having a separate install, or launcher options to switch between the two. Python
or launcher options to switch between the two. This would be a much better solution if it is possible, I really don't like the idea of separate installs personally. I suspect many people will feel the same in that DCS: World should encompass everything DCS wise. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
