Can someone with 8x00k test this ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

in order to know if an upgrade could be useful, can someone with a 8x00k test this ?

I have only 46fps in parking with the blue M2000, seems that shadows take a lot.

Even in LOW graph settings I have only 70fps.

My spec : 6600k@4.6Ghz, 1080TI, 16GB.

Thanks a lot for your help !

I set my 7700k to 4.6GHz and only running a 1070 stock clock and was seeing 50 - 60 fps in the Mirage, it's quite a large mission and took a bit to load 40 seconds.

It doesn't seem right going off your spec and running a 1080ti?

I'm only running 2560 x 1440, it's no that much different to your monitor.

I have around 47 FPS at Batumi with those settings.

That's also turning back on Cockpit global illumination.

At your rez you might be having a ram problem with this mission? It's eating lots of ram! I only have 16Gb also.

I've also been testing out process lasso at the moment, as you can see by the cores being utilized by DCS.

You are maxing out the GPU 99% in that last picture when over 5Ghz on the CPU, I think that's the best you could hope for, I'm surprised it's not more? As I could hit the 47 FPS with the 1070. Then again you are running at a higher Rez also!

This should get much better when ED fixes the memory management and vulkan api cannot come soon enough!! I dont think upgrading will give you much benefit if you can now push your CPU 5.1 GHz, that matches your GPU as seen in the last pic.

When you actually move that bird across the map, much more important will be how much you drop with the lowest fps due to the CPU being flooded at certain times and scenes.

The CPU in screenshot #2 is at roughly 50% across the cores, not really stressed.

What's the worst framerate and frametime after a real mission, that matters much more imho.

But with recent i5/i7's at 5GHz you basically have a top CPU and more just ain't possible right now. That's all you can do.

With All-In and WQHD I can well stay above 50 fps lowest fps in wcs, keeping me in Gsync. For 90% of the maps, it is good for 70-100+ fps.

I accept the 50ish lowest fps over Vegas etc. for the LOD and immersion I get. Gsync keeps it still acceptable for the eye.

VR is a totally different story and nothing really applies.

Tried it with your settings (thanks to google translate). Blue 1, sitting and looking around, 60's to 70s. Lowest I saw was 58 maybe? Looking at the clouds seemed to cause it to dip to 58. Otherwise, 60, 70.

Flew around the airbase low, and stayed at 90, 100, 110 for the most part. Dipped to 80 when I first flew over the base again. But it was mostly triple digits. Hope that helps

EDIT: I also exited the first time it loaded (took a long time, two min, maybe?). Exited immediately and came back in (loaded in 10 secs?) and looked at the FPS.

Just for others : I finally bought a 8600k, going to 5.2ghz, and I gone from 48fps with my 6600k@4.8ghz to 66fps at docking :)

How can I get that overlay showing GPU and RAM usage etc ? It’s not process lasso is it?
