uscstaylor
I'm posting this here in hopes that the ED team see this. Even after the last 2 updates my game is still taking a ridiculous amount of time to load. I find loading my game to get to the main screen and then exit out of it, and restarting my game makes it load quite a bit faster but this needs to be addressed. I don't know if it has to do with the older Caucus map, being an as old as it is or a memory leak or what but please fix this game. I liked it better when I didn't have to wait for my game to load and realizing I can make a cup of coffee before the main screen shows up.
BitMaster
Hmmm, it takes >15 sec to launch and 3-10 sec to close on my rig. Longer sessions need longer to offload and close than quick + small mission. Whats your sys spec ? could be that you are too slow in mem management, ssd, pagefile, etc.. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 24, 2018 ED Team Share Posted March 24, 2018 Thanks that is the one. I can see from your logs you have a lot of unofficial modifications, which DCS will check before it finish loading. I would start by removing them and then run a cleanup and repair ( I have a guide in my signature ) Forum rules - DCS Crashing? mastersetter
You really need to do a clean install of 2.5, no mods and go from there. If you still have issues after that then something isn't right.. i5-7600K @ 4.8 | 32GB | 1080 | Rift S | TM MFD & WH HOTAS-10mm ext + TFRP

Rain
Is this issue fixed already? I haven't been able to have a proper flight time in DCS on populated servers like Blueflag or 104th since 2.5 version came out...
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 28, 2018 ED Team Share Posted March 28, 2018 Is this issue fixed already? I haven't been able to have a proper flight time in DCS on populated servers like Blueflag or 104th since 2.5 version came out... More optimisations to come for now Follow this advice Ensure windows and all drivers are up to date Rename DCS.openbeta folder in saved games ( keep it as a backup ) remove any unofficial modifications ( if any ) run a cleanup and repair (guide in my signature) restart DCS and redo your desired options retest, first start will always take longer the shaders have to be generated. If you are still having problems. attach your dcs.log a screenshot of your ingame settings and full system specification ( dxdiag if possible ) to a post and we will try to help you. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Japo32
Here, with the new release 2.5, installed from scratch, and, of course, with new saved games profile, still it takes AGES to load even a "quick" action of the A10. Maybe 5-8 min, even after the first time and loading the same action again. This is not solved for sure here. I think this comes with the problem in Multiplayer. It takes ages to load multiplayer and in a moment that I can put my name in a plane in the lobby, whit 1-4 fps to do it... the plane starts to draw 3D around the pilot.... and it takes 7-10 minutes aprox, to let fly the plane. Maybe in single player all the 1-4 fps and redraw of cockpit is done in the background.... so we (the people that have this loading times and multiplayer issue) have the same problem. Thanks. boedha68
Yep, agree. I skipped mandatory from my club yesterday. Connection with server issues. DCS on minimum graphics settings makes no difference. I think, i'll start whole over again from scratch. If it still not helps, i set DCS on hold untill there is a real solution for server or/and loading issues. It started with 2.5 OB. Is now more then 2 months. Only on Multiplayer. Singleplayer gives no issues. BitMaster
7-10min to load the plane once already in cockpit ??? Something must be terribly wrong, either your rig is slow as a duck, misconfigured by accident or you have some unknown error. Once in the seat, it takes 3-10 seconds to load the surrounding, including ALL there is. What are your specs ? CPU speed/cores RAM SSD(s) PageFile settings ?? BitMaster
Your specs are ultimate. I think you're the only one here. :D No, I have about 95% same experience with all stock clocks -no OC- and no Raid-0. I just tried that yesterday at 4.33GHz and 2133 MHz RAM and all that, basically the same experience. Sometimes the GPU dropped to 80% shortly...but it was OK. It's not the 5.2G or the 1080Ti or the 32GB. It's the mix that has no weak point and some luck. 32GB, SwapFile(s) ..I think that is the crucial part right now. BitMaster
Something must be badly wrong with your systems memory management. Is your PageFile setting incorrect for DCS ?
