lester
Hi, Wiki page describing Operation Rimon 20 references following Israel resource: https://www.makorrishon.co.il/nrg/online/1/ART/969/882.html, that, among other things, mentions two facts (an according to Google translate): - Ezer Weizman, then Defense Minister of Israel, met with Hosni Mubarak, who served as Egyptian Air Force commander in 1970. Mubarak told Weizmann that he was sitting in the command post of the Egyptian Air Force at noon on July 30 watching the air battle in real time. "We knew you were a trap to the Russians," Mubarak said with a smile to Weizman, "but we were angry with the Russians who kept telling us we couldn't fly and maneuver. We told ourselves: let them eat chocolate." - Egyptian pilots were seriously pissed off by soviet instructors because of regular critics and couldn't resist laughing at the defeat of soviet pilots. Following the fight, President Nasser had to make explicit order to stop doing that in the squadrons. Does anybody know any other reliable source confirming these two facts above? I wasn't able to find a lot of related resources in english. Official IAF page just briefly describes dogfight and the results: https://www.iaf.org.il/4456-48908-en/IAF.aspx Maybe there were corresponding statements from Israel/Egypt officials, memoiurs of participants or articles in Israel/Egypt reputable press published later?
