J-11: N001 radar (engage one target at a time, detection range ~110km), old monochrome radar scope,AAM= R-27ER, R-27ET.

J-11A: N001VE radar (engage two targets simultaneously, detection range ~120km), two color MFDs in the cockpit,AAM= +R-77.

j-11B: PD radar Type 1493 (engage 4 target simultaneously, detection range ~150km),featuring 5 MFDs and a new wide-angle holographic HUD,AAM= PL-8, PL-12, PL-15.

IN DCS WORLD WE GOT MORE LIKE A J-11 BUT THEY CALL THIS A J-11A lol

- They can change the name and weapons, or they can change the aircraft cockpit, avionic and radar perf..

Honestly, avionics aside (as they are rather hard to do and implement into a FC3 plane), I'd love to have the chinese missiles. J-11 with the PL-12 would be pretty damn deadly.

AH You can mod the LUA if you want

Satarosa, are sure J-11 and J-11A are completely separate? It seems a somewhat unwritten rule that first variants don’t often have A designations at least ingenious being called informally. Are you sure the A suffix is used only N001VE? I’ve seen lots of stuff about N001VE, but it all seems a gray area where you can’t exactly say J-11 has N001 and if it’s J-11A has N001VE

@AeriaGloria, sir if you have a way to edit the J-11A LUA files please share it, when I looked at it it was scrambled and not like the LUA files of the other FC3 aircraft. So if you know how to do this please post the method or where I can get information on how to do it myself. I love the J-11A and more effective missiles would definitely be a bonus.

The Chinese military aviation site you linked says this “ J-11 was later upgraded with Russian assistance which features two color MFDs in the cockpit replacing the old monochrome radar scope. One normally serves as a digital moving map display (coupled with GPS). The aircraft can fire R-27RE1 SARH AAM with an extended range of 66km. It can also fire the actively guided R-77, suggesting an improved fire-control system. This may have been the result of assistance from Ukraine or Belarus. This variant (dubbed J-11A?) first flew in December 1999.”

This Does not convince me J-11 and J-11A are completely separate with a hard line between them. But that there is many different upgrades, and wether it is referred to as J-11 or J-11A seems to depend on who you talk to the date of the publication and how lazy someone is with their typing.

Could it be possible for Deka to make the J-11A with 2 MFDs MFI-55 also does anyone know if any of them have a Missile Attack Warning system? I read about it in a chinese news article though Im skeptical this might be more poor translation of the SPO-15 RWR than an actual MAWS
