Yay ... getting there. Little too much curvature maybe, but definitely better than the straight line. JaPo approves.

As for the underside; this guy did a nice job.

Awesome, thanks for the pics that was what I was aiming to do, lets see if I can get it right :)

Really nice Krupi, keep up the good work. Will you be sharing this skin with the Community, or is this a personnel use skin only?

S!Blade<><

Edit: Nice pics in the Screen shot thread. What was that you were releasing from the underside of the FW 190???:detective:

This one is for the community, just a tester before I start work on DoW personal skins :)

That was a SC50 Bomb Rack an ER-4 Rack that can be released from the ETC 504 Rack :smartass:

It's a stunning skin already. Feel free to release a "beta" version asap. I'll fly it right away. :)

Tail is from a Ta 152, it should be a large one ;)

I think the engine had to be replaced... etc It would be nice to get some more info

Interesting. I am especially curious about the Elfenbein color which is so unusual for Luftwaffe fighter planes (because it was the early colors for gliders (RLM 05)).

WOW great work, I really love this repaint.

I have one little question about the black stripe from the tail, is it possible to obtain the same shape ?

With this screenshot I show you this black stripe:

Thanks again and congratulation. Skull

Hi Krupi fuselage 4 is correct now. The mudguard 4 are the small 4's i posted on the sheet.

Picture of the sheet is small i know maybe its faster to make the 4 shape yourself in photoshop since the sheet is lowresolution.

comming along great :)

Thanks for the feedback Chaps :)

Update #4

I have redone the Fuselage Number again and I am a bit happier now..

Work has started on the lower surface.

I have managed to track down the Antenna and have given it some nice detail (Not sure if it 100% Historical but that is what my source says).

2014_08_25_00001.jpg

2014_08_25_00002.jpg

The Antenna can be found in the left wheel bay of the template for those wondering...

Next things to work on are the Wheel Letterings, some tweaks to the paint work and then I can start work on the next big thing.... Spec Surfaces :)

I have something special planned for the Spec Surface, lets hope I have the skill/patience to pull it off :weight_lift_2:

Good spot, are we sure that is WR 500647?

If it is I will just use the DIN1451 that I used on the wheel covers :D

HI Krupi,

Axel Urbanke says its 500647. Its correct. The wreckage (left behind) was found at Hustedt airfield. They had to leave it back as British or Canadian troops advanced too fast.

Haha brilliant!

I quite like it, it has a lot of character and shows how desperate the Luftwaffe were in 45.

Once this done I will start on a more conventional skin :P

Looks good, I love the contrast of it, and the different tones, its unique.

Krupi,

you are damn good.

I like your attitude for "Historical correct" ac.

Brown 4 is beautiful.

As i said i have some WN and numbers (yellow, white, brown etc) for III/54 and IV/JG26.

Brown 17 has WN 210144 but not 100% sure. It was the ac of Uffz Walter Stumpf.

Update #5 - SPEC OPS

So this is going to be an interesting one and it was all down to this photo...

1_He_111_P2_CANA_Furhrers_Air_Squadron_Mariupol_H.jpg

You can see that the lettering is quite glossy, this made me think about the whole gloss/matt paint thing in general, anyway I found some information in my books that told me which paints were and were not Gloss/Semi-Gloss or Matt.

I have now attempted (Still WIP) to add this...

RLM (84?) Light Green - Matt

RLM 83 Dark Green - Matt

RLM 82 Bright Green - Semi-Gloss

RLM 81 Brown Violet - Matt

RLM 76 Light Blue - Matt

RLM 75 Grey Violet - Semi-Gloss (TBD)

RLM 74 Grey Green - Matt

Crosses - Semi-Gloss/Gloss (TBD)

RLM 83 Dark Green - Matt/RLM 75 Grey Violet - Semi-Gloss (TBD)

2014_08_25_00008.jpg

RLM 81 Brown Violet - Matt/RLM 82 Bright Green - Semi-Gloss

2014_08_25_00013.jpg

Red Brown (WIP - Gloss)

2014_08_25_00014.jpg

Cross and Lettering (WIP - Gloss)

2014_08_26_00011.jpg

Now for some metal work (Again WIP)...

2014_08_26_00009.jpg

2014_08_26_00016.jpg

2014_08_26_00017.jpg

Anyway, if you have any advise/information regarding RLM Gloss etc... PLEASE give me some feedback :lookaround:

Now time for bed...

2014_08_26_00015.jpg

P.S. I am still not happy with RLM 82 Bright Green, please help me :(

Personally, I believe the all semi-glossyness goes away when the plane is being used, thanks to dust, soot, all kinds of adverse effects one would encounter in the field.

The He-111 in the picture above seems to be photographed after some rain (judging by the puddles in the ground) has washed it "clean".

So, unless you want to model a "freshly washed" or "freshly painted" aircraft, semi-gloss doesn't look as realistic in my humble opinion (but that's just me).

Looking forward to this skin. Thanks for all your work.

A good point, I think it would still be fairly obvious... I can always tweak the levels of semi-gloss :)

P.S. Don't worry I haven't even started on the dirt yet, the dirt you see is what was in the template already :D

Hi Krupi i will check my data when i get home.

Bomber paint is different then fighter paint. Also this picture was taken in March 1941. Paint supply was good quality then and RLM was documented correctly.

End of the war the RLM was a mess and patterns were not by rules of documentation anymore. As seen on weird patterns of FW190D's same goes for 109's G's and K's.

The thing is at that time ("1945") lots of aircraft didnt even receive primer layers anymore and came out just with the paint that was available often seen with still rough lines where seams are and red putty showing through.

Paints were mixed and noone can tell wich factory or supply it was made from because they used what they had at that moment.

Even paint and colours that were ment for bombers were used wich shows the lack of materials.

Most FW190D9's have been oversprayed by that time and you can see patchwork. Sometimes numbers were badly handpainted over.

I think Matt is playing safe looking at the time and period of the war and what was for hands. RLM 82 looks way to green in my eyes.

Might wanna check the different tables and see already 5 different versions.

Only thing that shined i think should be the Aluminium of underwing.

RLM 82 is far too dark in those references, I agree mine is too bright at the moment but none of the reference to RLM 82 I have found do the job :(
