WINWING F/A-18C HOTAS 2019.10.23 RELEASE

Recommended Posts

Great point!

Given that they have been promising to start shipping to the first pre-orders (I ordered in August) two weeks ago, time is almost up for me. If I don't get a shipping notice in the next few days, I'll likely file a Paypal dispute. While I've been excited about this product, it's only a game controller and I don't want to lose $1000.

I think Winwing opened the pre-order in July, I ordered the 10th of July

From what I've heard from those who have tested it, it's my personal impression: there are a lot of problems, but at the same time, it's a good product, a good potential, not at that price tag.

The product as such can not be shipped, it should get evolved.

All reviewers, who have considered a second more in-depth evaluation and there is nothing more why?

because it can not meet with our standards, so either we are patient or people who wish to cancel their order must do so. Up to you

Just saying, but you don't need to file a paypal dispute as a first resort. I cancelled my order ages ago due to financial reasons, and they refunded me within a couple of hours.

Didn’t mean to be provocative and I used the wrong words. I meant that I would file for a refund if I don’t hear anything soon. I have sent a few emails to them asking for a status on my order with no reply so I was focusing on PayPal as the mechanism. Apologies.

you're absolutely right, I'm a little disappointed, but all the reviewers found a lot of problems, one of the testers told me about the set he received there are a lot of rusty spots, this product did not have a beta tester and these reviewers are the beta test of Winwing to eliminate these problems, so there is delay and he does not answer, he may catch up

Probably just flash rust, easily removed. It's humid over in China where they make and store those devices - so that's really not a biggie at all.

Yeah, but it's totally wrong to keep the costumers in dark. At least Winwing could give us a short quick update ( it would take 10 minutes of their precious time to do so), 3 weeks have passed since Winwing website notification that they need a week to switch cams on joystick gimble. Imagine how bad the warranty service will be.

I think it’s good thing winwing to fix the problems report from streamers. I don’t wanna receive a unit with a lot of hidden issues.

Yeah. Stainless steel resists rusting more than mild steel, but you should still protect generic stainless steels from moisture. Marine grade stainless, or more expensive exotic steels or super alloys ARE highly resistant to rusting and effectively are rust proof. But they are much more expensive, sometimes more difficult to machine and specialised materials.

Because maybe Winwing is embarrassed, what do you want as an answer or update? yes guys, there are a lot of apparent and hidden problems in addition to the design of the base of the stick which is not that great and all that, does not justify the price.

Look at the latest review of Growling Sidewinder, look at the cheap rudder pedal he uses, although he can not lie, he just says few words about Winwig set in his clip, which lasts at least 25 minutes,or more and I quote: yes, He likes this set but he will come back later when he get used to more, at the same time, the other reviewers have opted for a much more in-depth reviews, but a great silence, which is not cool at all, we'll see

How does a hotas get rust on it on the first place? Bathing with it perhaps?

Very often stainless steel stock (sheet metal) gets rusty while being stored (outside) before it is being machined, cut, punched and folded. It should be protected by plastic sheeting, or a thin oil, but mishandling during storage outside can scratch the plastic and expose the steel to the elements. Or otherwise just being left outside in the damp for too long exposing it to rusting. It is all part of quality control really (for the manufacture and for them to keep an eye out and demand high standards from their materials suppliers).

I am not saying this is the problem here. I had no idea, and no information about what materials are being used and how they were stored in this situation. And it is none of my business.

I asked for a refund and sent them a screenshot of my PayPal receipt. They were asked for my receipt from winwing too. I checked all my emails and don't see a receipt with an order number. Did anyone else get this when they made their purchase? If so, who was the sender? Maybe I can just do a quick search for it. Nothing with winwing comes up. Thanks!

On 17 October I send Alex at Winwing an email asking to cancel my order due to missed delivery deadlines. The same day I escalated to Paypal, but I made clear that I had also contact the retailer. Paypal don't get involved initially and ask you to communicate with the vendor. I quoted the order number that you can find on the account management area of the Winwing website when you are logged in. Alex responded to me very quickly (within 24 hours I think). He explained the delay and offered me a choice between refund or wait a bit longer; I opted for the refund. The funds appeared back in my account after about 7 days. (After authorisation it takes time for PayPal to refund your credit card. I think the refund is faster if you used money in a PayPal account to make the initial vendor payment as you don't need to wait for credit card company processing of the money sent by Paypal.)

In summary, Winwing was professional, polite and fast implementing the refund. No complaints from me.

Hope this helps.

Well, check through your email messages and your PayPal receipt emails for information. Otherwise just send alex an email, if you haven't already. I would expect he would be helpful. He certainly was not obstructive to me in any way.

That's good to know... that even if we miss the paypal deadline for a refund that Winwing customer service should come through.

I am going to wait.
