1. What is the logic behind this? Is it like a developer develop on a plane and just publish it?
2. Most of the new plane's capabilities are unknowns, including JF17, so development are made on just speculation?
1) The reason we don't (and probably won't for the foreseeable future) have aircraft like the F22, Rafale, Typhoon, Gripen, etc is largely based on available public data and licensing. The F22 is a perfect example of this because a lot of the systems, manuals, documents, etc are still classified. Any mods out there that have been created are emulations of the aircraft and not full simulations.

2) Deka has direct access to a no kidding JF17 simulator from my understanding and access to plenty of documentation/manuals given it's export status. I'm gonna go on a limb based on what happened with ED and the F18 that some systems/characteristics are still hush hush and probably will be similar but not 100% accurate as part of a licensing agreement.

I suspect the manufacturer finds this as a truly cheap way to advertise their aircraft in certain circles.

Would not surprise me if DCS in a few years was crawling with LCA/COIN planes and other for export combat hardware targeted at developing countries like the Hawk 200 and L-159

Seems very plausible though maybe not the Hawk after the problems with the previous version

This is kind of stupid question, but does anyone know where are speed brakes located on thunder? I was not yet seen a picture or video of the thunder with its airbrakes deployed.
Share the picture too if anyone has it.

Ask and ye shall receive. I have some others but I’ve posted them before on this thread so the site won’t let me upload them again(one silhouetted with vapor should be few pages back). They usually are painted with black edges.
