FC3 Bug thread

Nate can you give us some guidance then on the LUA syntax to limit the lateral movement when looking dead six. Getting an appropriate value for this would then result in not being able to move so far that you open up the texture voids ?

 

All I think we really need is to be able to have the linted 6DOF for the view forward.

I'm fairly certain that removing lateral movement depending on view rotation would be nearly impossible to achieve. This is quite likely the reason it was left out, as holes in the model couldn't be hidden. Apologies I can offer no guidance, I can't remember the correct syntax, nor the values that might work.

I just noticed that a MP track I recorded is showing some strange behavior. Though I'm not making a big deal out of it as it's probably related to existing issues with tracks not recording properly.

 

The strangest thing though is that it seems to correct itself which is something I've never seen before. At the same time, it's hard to say exactly where it goes wrong since the original flight is lost forever.

 

I guess my question is, would this be worth posting as a bug, or is it just similar to an existing issue?

Currently out of town but will post pics and vid soon. Departed Tiblisi at 1600 (Spring) in a F-15 and headed north for a practice intercept. When looking north the cockpit turned black with a boxy pixelation and everything above the horizon was black as well. Rolling inverted cleared most of the anomaly. Turning south cleared the anomaly entirely. It resumed once back on a northerly heading.

Correct track playback... a dream.

This is actually the first time in a while that I've had this issue. Though I've never looked at an online track before.

Some quick testing seems to confirm what I've been suspicious of for a little bit. F-15 drop tanks do not add drag to the aircraft.

 

I thought the plane seemed a bit too good with two drop tanks. I just loaded one with 8 missiles and two tanks, flew until top speed nearly stabilized (~1000 knts) then dropped them. My acceleration stayed constant.

 

EDIT

 

Max speed 30,000 ft - Fuel set to infinite.

 

3 tanks - 1006 KTAS

2 tanks - 1006 KTAS

0 tanks - 1015 KTAS

2 tanks, internal fuel reduced to make gross weight = to 0 tanks with 100% fuel - 1018 KTAS

Mig-29 smoke pod colors are not correct. Red is blue and blue is red.

I've had a wee look through the various posts/threads and collated a list of bug reports to date:

 

1 - F15 Gear up = black textures

2 - Mig29S external fuel tanks not displayed on fuel tape

3 - F15 ADI switched

4 - F15 Virtual head movement excessive

5 - Russian planes Cannot lock contact in TWS

6 - AK arrestor cables not animated

7 - SU33 loadout indicators reversed in cockpit

8 - Refuelling F15/SU33 buggy

9 - F15 VSD text overlap when STT/Guns

10 - F15 external lights absent in flight

11 - Damage modelling to wheels/landing gear absent

12 - F15 HUD unreadable

13 - Russian planes Nav circle misalignment

14 - Engines/Afterburner on even though engines on fire

15 - R27ER no loft trajectory

16 - Mig31 nosewheel not grounded

17 - Canopy jettison animation wrong

Please speak up so we can ensure that all get bumped up the food-chain to get actioned. I'll continue updating the list with new reports as and when relevant.

 

I'll also confirm whether they have already been dealt with in recent builds in due course. Most important issue now is to collate all forum member reports as it relates to the public beta so we can get as many issues as possible sorted so please all speak up if there are any missing from the list.

 

Goes without saying that crash reports are not included but have to be dealt with as per the crash report procedure/short manual.

Su-27's cobra is missing. Please add it.

 

After first Aim-120C misses if F-15C pilot fires another missile or locks the target again, the first missile starts to track the locked target beyond the gimbals limit. Also, Aim-120C when ballistic should only lock target within its FOV and gimbals limit.

The automated leading edge flaps on flanker are shown in pit instruments as regular flaps and every time they extract/retract in flight the flaps audio sound is there and it shouldn't be, right now every time I hear flaps sound I think I forgot to retract them... very annoying

No longer active in DCS...

13 - Russian planes Nav circle misalignment

 

This occurs in ENR,RTN In these modes it would appear that the NAV steering circle is just frozen in the HUD at whatever position it starts in.

 

It works Ok in LDG mode to direct you the localiser and Glideslope.

 

EDIT

It would seem to correct itself about 10Km from the RTN Waypoint fix.

Those particular items have been noted and fixed already in the internal builds. If I ignore your post/do not add items to the list then assume that they have already been rectified. If they have not after a subsequent update, feel free to repost again with a minor bollocking for missing it the first time around :D

.... but its incorrect and this was detailed with extensive Flight Manual documentation and full transfer sequence graphics in the posts referred to in this FC3 (and FC2) bug reports. The error crept in in FC2 after version 1.12 The MIG29 Fuel system worked correctly in FC 1.12.

 

In summary this is how it Should work and look and how it worked in FC1.12 and is based on Flight Manual documentation !
