[NO BUG]Hornet wont launch from carrier.

For a while now I have been seeing an intermittent issue that results in the hornet not being launched from the catapults, even at full afterburner. A secondary symptom is the slight shaking of the camera.

When I watch it you are not connected to the cat, are you pressing U once your bar is down, you should see steam from the track and the barrier raised.

 

Also are you using any unofficial mods? if so it mabye worth removing them and testing again.

I had this randomly happen to me the other day. As far as I could tell I was hooked to the CAT (visually it seemed like it, and launch bar was staying down after I retracted it) and the barrier was raised. I restarted the mission and had the same thing. I ended up closing DCS and restarting it and everything was fine. Not something I've ran into before that.

I was hooked on the cat on my screen; blast deflector up, aircraft held back at full throttle.

 

I am using mods, so I will try again without them.

 

I'm wondering if the carrier turning into the wind might be the culprit, I will post another track without mods if I can.

As discussed on discord, dont manually retract the launch bar, leave it extended, it will retract automatically after launch.

 

it should be fine then

That is surprising. The NATOPS says that the launch bar switch returns automatically to RETRACT for aircraft 161353 through 161715, but that for aircraft 161716 and up, we should place the switch to RETRACT after we are under tension.

Since our aircraft is 165407, the latter is what I would expect, (and works anyway - at least usually).

Yes, that wasn't the issue, it looks like it was some sort of script running in the mission.

Is it a Guess or a Fact, that it is the Scripts fault?

 

Since the Carrier is dumb and dosent do anything for you (like turning into the wind and such) we need that Scipt, and we use Dynamic Weather, for what its worth duh.

 

Myself and Nineline can not reproduce on an unscripted mission.

 

If someone can reproduce in an unscripted mission and attach the track with a dcs.log I will be happy to report it.

This the Script i/we use in our Missions, i cant recall ever hanving issue's with it. Till now it seems.

 

This is what it does:

 

-Turn the Ship for 25-30 knots wind over angled Deck

 

-Makes a Recovery Cycle which is defined by by a Do Script

 

-Up on request, it tells you TACAN, ICLS, BRC, if Signal Charlie or returning and Position regards to Bullseye and your own Position

Requestet by Comm menu --> F10 etc.

Also an Option to Overide the Script to make it steam into the Wind period until you tell it to start Recovery Cycle over again.

 

-It also has a Tanker function build in, how ever due to the fact that it dosent suit our Missions we just have the Carrier function.

 

 

''Wrench.carrierSetup('Stennis' , 40 , nil )''

 

''40'' defines the whole Cycle, meaning 20 Minutes Signal Charlie and 20 Minutes turning around.

The Idea beeing that it roughly stays at the same spot trough out the Mission.
