Default Normandy Map 1944 Live Stream

Dear all,

On 4 March 2017, I plan to do the first live stream of the Normandy 1944 map! This will probably be over Youtube livesteam.

If you have specific questions about this map, please post them here and I'll try to answer many of them during the stream.

Next week I will provide the exact time.

Look forward to seeing you all then,
Matt

  • Can you provide some insight on what the current disk footprint of the WIP map is?
  • Will there be placeable makeshift airbases at release?
  • We've seen some screens of B-25(?) model renders, any ideas on what other AI air units might be in the pipeline?

I have heard it mentioned that these new maps will be able to represent different time periods or scenarios like flooding of Cotentin Peninsula during D-day or some areas just having more destruction like damaged buildings. Can you give any insight as to what kind of control the mission creator will have over these types of scenarios?

Hi Wags, here are a few questions :

1. Will we be allowed to fly the map with modern-era aircrafts? (even if that's not the purpose of this map)

2. Will moving trains be synchronized in multiplayer sessions? (for now, moving trains are client-side only)

3. Will it be possible to add moving trains using the mission editor ?

1. Not a question but I would love see a low level flight a few kilometers along the coast. Maybe this fits into your flight plan.

2. Could you provide some informations about the performance expectations?

Flooding was an RRG thing, I dont think that is currently planned for release of the map. Right now, limited items will change with change of year, WIP. Buildings will work like other maps, you will be able to destroy stuff, but it will not be destroyed on load, at least not at release.

Hi Matt!

Quick question regarding the ATC: Was it reworked for the DCS WWII?

1. Will we see new dynamic lighting.

2. Some new terrain progress (T4).

3. Will it be another installer or a module added into the Nevada alpha.

4. What other WW2 units are you looking to include.

5. Will ground units be usable and updated in a Combined Arms way.
