Next update is next week.

We were given this, which does not imply it will be next week:

Dear all, once again this week there will be no Open Beta update, I am sure most of you figured this out, but a proper build with the Viper is being created. While I cant say when for sure it will come, that is the current goal of the next Open Beta.

Thanks as always for your support and patience.

Yes!

I haven't said anything about the release of the Viper, only about the next update.

Yes, I know that, me too. The quote is about the update as well, only it mentions that the goal for that update it to include Viper.

I'm not buying any new modules until they finish things I've already purchased - namely F18. I recommend everyone do the same! The trend at ED towards the 'money grab' is getting worse and worse. 20 half finished projects is ZERO FINISHED PROJECTS!

AMD Ryzen 5 3600, ASUS X570-PLUS, NVidia RTX 2080, 32GB DDR4 @2400MHz, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, Corsair H100i cooler, Oculus Rift S.

Yeah but if you read that quote that means no updates or bug fixes until the viper actually releases. Which does make some sense from the developer standpoint (keep everything stable), but is also kinda lame from a customer standpoint, especially for guys who didn't buy the viper. (I did buy it, but I want other stuff fixed/added).

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Honestly I find DCS pretty stable as it is right now, and the Hornet is at a nice resting point

Im skipping the pre-order of this one. Not for some cause or anything, but because I see this one as a very good bottle of wine, and I dont want to taste it before its actually matured and as intended. This is because the F-16 is my favorite jet, and my most anticipated module of all, and I wont have that spoiled.

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

You’re welcome. Thank you! Dcs is so innovative, break barrières and listens to the community! :D

They just stated nothing will be released, but I am pretty sure that developers keep coding, just nothing will be merged to open beta branch until Viper release.

I see a big disadvantage in this policy for 3rd Party developers, especially for campaigns. Developers submit corrected missions to ED for their campaigns and those don´t get released for weeks because a big update is postponed and there is no update at all. I experienced this several times now.

What is with the players that just want to play a campaign with broken missions at the moment and ED already has the corrected missions but doesn´t release them? That´s a little bit frustrating.

Nope.

I will pre-order what I want, when I want. Not to mention, support ED, the company that produces the sim we are enjoying.

I love how you made this announcement as if anyone asked. Also, by my count, the only incomplete modules from ED are the F/A-18C LOT 20 and the Yak-52.
